Apple plans a special invitation-only event to introduce new products next week. The event happens on Tuesday, February 28, 2006 at 10:00 AM Pacific Time.
The invitation gives away precious little about what Apple has up its sleeve for the event.
Come see some fun new products from Apple, says the invitation received by Macworld. The e-mail features a large rendering of an iCal-style icon with the date set to February 28, 2006.
The event takes place at Apple Town Hall on Apples Cupertino campus.
TOPICS: Miscellaneous
KEYWORDS: apple; ibook; ipod; mac; newproducts; osx

Well, whatever you do, don't accurately speculate about what they're up to! If you happen to guess right, you'll hear from their lawyers. One thing Apple doesn't want is too much publicity.

Yeah, I am hoping it's some kind of new ipod product, and/or maybe the new ibooks are ready.

Reading their patent applications makes for fun speculation.
They appear to have in mind an i-pod video where one whole side is nothing but screen since they have patented the GUI based on touching the screen when no buttons are showing.

This device was "exposed" a few weeks ago I believe, it is as you say, a video device with the entire front face devoted to the video image. I think the conclusion of our resident Freeper Experts, was that unless Apple was going to use a super-highly scratch resistant glass and or coating, the thing was going to look terrible in a few months. That said, its not like Apple goes on the cheap, and I am sure thats one thing they have done..

Screen touching GUI? Well, that should make the porn now available for downloading to the iPod all the more interesting!

In other words. You know that IPOD you got for Christmas last year, it's going to suck by next Christmas wanting you to wish you had our new product.

That'd certainly address one of the biggest problems with the current iPod-with-Video - the small screen. OTOH, it'd probably exacerbate the other big problem with the current iPod - scratches.
To: Panerai
New video iPod. Rumor has it that the screen will span the front of the iPod and the wheel will be digital, screen-based one.
