She's a pretty little girl, the 84-year-old Democrat told reporters. Here's what I found amazing:
the paper correctly identified his party affiliation!

He also has referred to women as little girls a term celebrated by some women who have worked for him, who say he treated them with respect. After a campaign ad in 2002 suggested he was unfair to women, some former employees held a rally and waved signs that read, Little Girls for Schaefer. Of course if it's a Republican, like Bob Packwood, he's toast.

She's a pretty little girl, the 84-year-old Democrat told reporters. The day I don't look at pretty women is the day I die. One can't help but wonder how differently this story would be covered if the good comptroller was a Republican.
Sen. Packwood, anyone?

"Schaefer stared intently at the woman an aide to Gov. Robert Ehrlich as she walked away after bringing him a beverage Wednesday during a Board of Public Works meeting. Then he summoned her back, as people waiting to testify watched and waited. The aide, looking puzzled, returned to the table, and Schaefer told her, Walk again, and watched her as she made the second trip to the exit" Call me a prude, but if this were MY daughter, I wouldn't be too happy. It's not like she was working at Hooter's!
We took my Pop Pop to one of those rotating restaurants atop a tower in Houston (sometime in the late 60s-70s) and even tho he was weak..he kept up with the waitress and her puffy short skirt and ruffle bloomers! Yet he never would have behaved that way to a woman at an official meeting and definately not one in the position as an aide to the Gov.

Sounds like he's getting a bit senile.
As a woman I would be offended to be treated like this. The only man I want ogling me is my husband. Any [expletive deleted] who tells me to walk across the room again so he can ogle my ass is liable to get slapped in the face.

This is a rude dirty old man
He said this little girl ought to be happy that I observed her going out the door.
This is "worthy" of Bill Clinton

So! If she was good looking look! Why would one think that the female attire is made the way it is made, to not look? That is what is in our blood. Look but do not touch without permission.

I actually think this is sexual harrassment. I've had secretaries harrass me by grabbing and it's not fun or funny.
