The following are three headlines in today's WorldNetDaily. Will government schools survive this, or will parents be like the frog simmering in slowing heating water?

Sure they will! The alternative would be for parents to take responsibility for their children's education (and baby-sitting)instead of just dumping them at the bus stop.

Why do you think the government takes so much of you income away by taxation? It's to force as many people as possible to be dependent on government provided services.

Unfortunately government schools will survive anything. The government bureaucracy that is behind the teachers union is far too powerful and influential to be affected by anything the schools do.

Consider: We have a national Department of Education in Washington. Each State has a state Department of Education. Every city of any size, and many small towns have a Department of Board or Board of Education. Each county has a Board of Education.

Except for local school boards, this bureaucracy is not elected and is not accountable to the public. The so0called teachers union is an intragal part of this bureaucracy with members of each drifting back and forth from one to the other.

Mixed in is the largely unmentioned textbook publishers and the vast industry that serves the physical plants.

It's not about teaching or education, it's about money. The education bureaucracy fights to prevent the requirement that teachers be tested or qualified so that membership can be expanded. Teachers are harder to fire than automatic elevator operators in Washington.

What it will take is recognition by the public that the whole system must be dumped.

In my office there are several engineers whose wives are teachers in the public school system. I frequently catch it anytime discussions revolve around school because my children have always been in private schools.
These are good people, and I don't understand why they can't see the problem with the government school system. It completely baffles me.
They "Boycott" any of the fund raising that our school does, which is OK I guess, but seems childish to me.
Any of them would totally disagree with putting perverts in place of a principal.

You are right. Socialized schooling is the second biggest welfare program in the country. Instead of stepping up and taking on their responsibility, far too many parents dump their responsibility on the government. They turn their children over to bureaucrats instead of putting them in a free market school or better yet educating them themselves.

The problem in reforming the situation is most people now have a welfare mentality. Like the third and fourth generation person in government housing or on food stamps, parents who dump their kids in government schools grew up in government schools and so did their friends so they think that’s the way things should be.

Most of these parents don’t think of themselves as feeding at the public trough. Most think of themselves as paying their own way. In fact, others are subsidizing their lifestyles. They enjoy that subsidy so like the person living in the project, they will complain, but they will not give up their welfare.

The classroom bureaucrats, and the administration bureaucrats, like the bureaucrats who manage the projects, will do as they please. The parents will complain but will not turn to the free market.

From news reports and from what I have heard from teacher and ex-teacher friends, most school systems have a great number of homosexuals teaching, and in positions of power. Both gay and lesbians.

And they've been there for years.

To be honest, my problem is not necessarily with their private life. My biggest problem is that the want to force me to teach my children that it is a normal and healthy lifestyle.
My wife is a nurse and I can tell you that probably a third of the medical staff anywhere is homosexual. Again, if they keep their perversion private, it is their business.
Having said that, I don't trust them at all with my children. The organizations that support them keep trying to lower the age of consent.

Cordially,

This is a big issue and true. For instance I know in my daughters school the "psychologist" is a lesbian. Why do we employ psychologist at elementary schools.
