It's looking like the Able Danger story (which the 9-11 Ommission Commission totally disregarded) may be about to take off. I'm told that this Wednesday's House Armed Service joint subcommittee hearing on Able Danger will have some surprises.

With Able Danger hearings scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, be sure to keep an eye on the QT Monster's Place.
Billy J sez to Sandy B ... hurry up son - gotta head for them hills --- the revenooers are gaining on us!

The only surprise will be if this goes anywhere. It is much easier to let Democrats run down Republicans, than to get to the truth.
Only after a lag of about how long?
Yikes.
Remind me not to have my fuineral planned by those guys, I'll never get buried.
;-)
This entire issue must be blown wide open, and the ineptitude, carelessness, incompetence and political chicanery of Washington MUST BE EXPOSED!!! We know where alot of the focus WILL BE already. But this is no small issue. 3000 ghosts cry out for justice upon those that were the political hacks who tried to sweep terror and its players, under the rug...
Can anyone post a 3 sentence synopsis of Able Danger, I've been out of the loop on this one, regrettably. Thanks
Amen.

Secret defense department anti-terrorism technology group tasked with data mining public information and connecting it to interesting/suspected terrorist events.
Mohammed Atta was found out via the Able Danger team 1 year prior to 9/11.
The team was prevented from informing the FBI thanks to the Gorelick wall.
Here's a letter I received from Weldon's office today :
[THIS MESSAGE HAS BEEN SENT ON BEHALF OF U.S. REP. CURT WELDON (R-PA). YOU HAVE RECEIVED THIS EMAIL BECAUSE YOU HAVE CONTACTED OUR OFFICE ABOUT ISSUES RELATING TO ABLE DANGER]
Thank you for taking the time over the past few months to contact me regarding the Able Danger - a Department of Defense planning effort prior to 9/11 tasked to identify and target the linkages and relationships of Al-Qaeda worldwide. Your voice has played a crucial role in getting 248 Members of Congress to ask for Congressional Hearings. I wanted to update you about the progress that has been made on Able Danger with your help.
First, I would like to thank the House Armed Services Committee Chairman Duncan Hunter for his leadership in pursuing Able Danger hearings, as well as Deputy Secretary of Defense Gordon England for his support on behalf of the Pentagon.
Following a long congressional recess where staff was busy preparing for this hearing, I am pleased to announce that on Wednesday, 15 February 2006 at 2:30 p.m. in 2118 Rayburn House Office Building, the House Armed Services Strategic Forces and Terrorism, Unconventional Threats and Capabilities Subcommittees have tentatively scheduled a joint hearing for open and closed testimony on the Able Danger effort. Witnesses have not yet been scheduled as interviews are ongoing. A complete list of witnesses should be available by close of business on Monday, February 13, 2006.
Thank you for your ongoing interest. I would ask that you communicate with your Member of Congress and express how important Able Danger hearings are and thank them for their support. I will continue to keep you updated as hearings progress.
Thank you
Curt Weldon

this issue goes WAY BEYOND partisan lines...
This is true, but my guess is only fifty members in congress care anything about this issue. The majority of congress (90% plus) is under the influence of their 'sleeping pills' and all is well as far as they are concerned. Regrettably nothing will come of this. clinton and gorelick would have to be charged with treason. clinton and gorelick are as guilty as bin laden, so guess where this is going.
It's a story about Washington malfeasance that's going nowhere. Oh wait, that was Kennedy killing a girl, Johnson conning us into war, Clinton selling secrets to the Chinese...oh never mind.
Thanks for the thread and the links much appreciated. I have been an Able Danger follower for some time and hope that LT Shaffer gets the respect he deserves. There is nothing worse than trying to destroy the good name of one of our greatest fighters against terrorists.
Any C-Span coverage?
(BTW Thanks for the info)
