Can anyone post a 3 sentence synopsis of Able Danger, I've been out of the loop on this one, regrettably. Thanks

There was a secret project in the Pentagon that tried to use data mining to find terrorists in the US. This was in the 1999/2000 time frame. Able Danger identified Mohammad Atta and had his photograph along with 2 other 9-11 hijackers, but lawyers stopped Able Danger from sharing this information with the FBI. Get up to speed on Able Danger by reading the posts/articles linked from my Able Danger blogroll-look for it in the left hand column of the blog page.

Secret defense department anti-terrorism technology group tasked with data mining public information and connecting it to interesting/suspected terrorist events.

Mohammed Atta was found out via the Able Danger team 1 year prior to 9/11.

The team was prevented from informing the FBI thanks to the Gorelick wall.

Can anyone post a 3 sentence synopsis of Able Danger,

It's a story about Washington malfeasance that's going nowhere. Oh wait, that was Kennedy killing a girl, Johnson conning us into war, Clinton selling secrets to the Chinese...oh never mind.
