Regrettably, the decision by the media not to offend Muslims is motivated by fear, not ethics.
Whenever the Catholic League criticizes a work of art, cartoon, movie or TV show, we are told that (a) we’re the intolerant ones (b) what is offensive is in the eye of the beholder (c) art is supposed to make people uncomfortable (d) no one can criticize anything until they have seen it (e) protests have a ‘chilling effect’ on free speech (f) it’s not real anyway, and (g) get over it. So why have Muslims been spared this lecture? Because the extremists in their ranks—and they are not a tiny minority—have shown they may respond with beheadings.

Of course, Christians won't cut your head off. A "moderate muslim" is one who only fires a few rounds from his AK-47 at a wedding. Maybe it's a good thing they aren't allowed to drink.

* Muslims fire rocket-propelled grenades into schools full of children in Israel. No Muslim outrage.
* Muslims murder more than 50 commuters in attacks on London subways and busses. Over 700 are injured. No Muslim outrage.
* Muslims massacre dozens of innocents at a Passover Seder. No Muslim outrage.
* Muslims murder innocent vacationers in Bali. No Muslim outrage.
* Muslim newspapers publish anti-Semitic cartoons. No Muslim outrage
* Muslims are involved, on one side or the other, in almost every one of the 125+ shooting wars around the world. No Muslim outrage.
* Muslims beat the charred bodies of Western civilians with their shoes, then hang them from a bridge. No Muslim outrage.
* Newspapers in Denmark and Norway publish cartoons depicting Mohammed. Muslims are outraged.
Dead children. Dead tourists. Dead teachers. Dead doctors and nurses. Death, destruction and mayhem around the world at the hands of Muslims .. no Muslim outrage ...
But publish a cartoon depicting Mohammed with a bomb in his turban... and all hell breaks loose.

The media had no qualms about printing photographs at Abu Graib, knowing it would inflame Muslims against our soldiers.
But the same media won't publish cartoons for fear of inflaming Muslims against them. The media. Cowards.
Failure to stand up to the sort of nonsense shown by the Moslems the last few days simply breeds more nonsense, and by more folks.
The guys from the Washington Post probably ought to stick close to the sides of buildings as they walk down the sidewalks in DC from now on. Never know who's lurking there.
