Protest the St. Pat's Day Parade in Woodside, Queens (ILGO parade)
February 10, 2006 | JulieJ

Please help us protest the ILGO all inclusive St. Pat's Day parade in Woodside, Queens on March 5, 2006 at 12:30 p.m. the no. 7 train to 46th Street in Queens. We will probably meet at 45th and Skillman Avenue. this "all inclusive" parade is an exercise in Christian bashing and bashing Pres. Bush. Signs at prior parades have read Free Mumia, Free Palestine, U.S. out of Iraq. Craven politicians who don't attend the Fifth Avenue parade show up at this one. This is nothing "inclusive" about this parade.

Please show up to help us protest against the ILGo sponsored St. Pat's Day Parade on March 5, 2006 in Woodside, Queens. Their website is Stpatsforall. This is the anarchist parade. the local churches boycott it. Meet us on 45th and Skillman Avenue in Sunnyside before 12:30.

Signs at prior parades have read Free Mumia, Free Palestine, . . .

Hang up banners that read "Free Beer".
They'll be overrun and cancel.

Bush Bash? Maybe the Jr. Senator will be in the parade.

If you choose to stay away from the gay issue, there is plenty of other stuff to protest. Essentially, they bring the hysterical ignorant far-left message to a community that wants nothing to do with it. The whole "inclusiveness" idea has now become an excuse to march through Woodside with anti-Bush hatred.

Puh-leeze. Give me a break. The gays march openly in the parade in Ireland, why shouldn't they march in a parade in the U.S.?

It amazing how laughable Irish folks, who don't really care about the gay issue (other than gay marriage), consider tight-a-sed Irish-Americans, many of whom have never been to the Auld Sod.

You guys better not go to Dublin, where drag queens march in the St. Patty's day parade.

Because it is filthy, disgusting, perverse and not appropriate public behavior. I don't care where they are marching.

i think you should probably contact the animal rights activists for the protest. St. Patrick violated the rights of the poor snakies and drove them out of Ireland. PETA will probably help you out on this.
After all, St. Patrick was to snakes what Columbus was to Indians.

Read Reply #4. If it were just gays and those politicians dependent on their votes protesting the noninclusive St. Patrick's Day Parade on Fifth Avenue, who would care? It's become something else.

I don't think the "Auld Sod" refers to the people in the parade, does it?

I've always wondered about ILGO.

What exactly is their purpose?

I mean, creating an entire pressure group simply to force the Ancient Order of Hibernians to accept gay people seems like overkill.

Lionel, a host I usually abhor, had a funny line about that organization.

What do they do when it isn't St. Patrick's Day?

I mean, creating an entire pressure group simply to force the Ancient Order of Hibernians to accept gay people seems like overkill.

Granted, the AO of H's are made up of a bunch of uptight old farts from Staten Island and Lawn Guyland, but even I agree that ILGO has more of an agenda than just some frivolous (but fun) parade.

Personally, I think that the AOH will finally back down when ILGO stops making such a nuisance of themselves. Its gotten to the point where the issue is not about public displays of homosexual pride (which, as I said before, are readily accepted in SPD parades in Ireland and Australia), but the fact that backing down to such a bunch of whiney annoying twits would look pathetic.

My advice to ILGO is to lay low for awhile, allow the WWII/League of Decency/Christian Front generation of Hibernians to go to the great pub in the sky, and they will then be quietly allowed to march in the parade within 10-15 years.

Yeah, I don't see either side caving in, and to be honest, I don't think anyone outside of the parade organizers and the jackasses agitating to march under a gay and lesbian banner-whatever that would be-really care one way or the other.

It's like the futile jihad Martha Burk has waged against Hootie Johnson and the Master's tournament for the past two or three years.

Outside of the minds of the delusional feminist wildebeests I don't think the issue of who does or doesn't play at a chic golf course is all that important.

St. Patrick's parades in Ireland are a new phenomenon, modled after the NY one. The MSM would never tell you this, but the whole point of the St. Patrick's parade was Catholic solidarity. That being said, anything that keeps the freaks out of the real parade is fine by me. Personally, I avoid all parades anyway. I think all parades other than ones for our military and the NY Yankees should be held outside of Manhattan.

Yeah, these ILGO "folks" are just one of many perfect expressions of the idea that "it's not just about one issue, it's about SO MANY ISSUES", so they keep adding things to the package in the hopes that they'll be offering, in addition to the issue du jour, a little something for everyone among the floating constituency
they want to tap into. Trouble is, everyone ELSE can see them and their signs, and that's what does them in and highlights their hypocrisy.

A sign that says, "FRY MUMIA" sends them into lunar orbit.

I thought the original NYC St. Patrick's Day Parade was started by Irish Protestants. I'd have to look that up to be sure.

Also, it's not run by the Ancient Order of Hibernians anymore. Again, can't think of the name of the organization and would have to look it up.

Actually, Senator Clinton has routinely shown up but since she was photographed with a Greek Orthodox priest at the parade who was subsequently convicted of being a pedophile, she did not show up last year. We miss her: always great to boo her. Bloomberg always shows up after we protesters pack up our signs and leave. He just can't face us. in the year 2000 this "parade" was a Suport Hillary for senate event and polticos including Nadler shamelessly showed up to waddle along with Her Royal Thighness. The police hated the Free Mumia signs. No Republicans march in this "parade".
