ACORN Isn't Growing in Allied (Welfare & Gang Mecca of Madison, WI)

(Residents urged to join group...)

ACORN, a national community organizing group, is struggling to attract members in the Allied Drive area, but is winning support from two key neighborhood groups.

Members from the Allied-Dunn's Marsh Neighborhood Association and the Dunn's Marsh-Allied Drive Landlords Association urged neighborhood residents to join ACORN, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, at an organizing meeting Wednesday.

"We need to get these lazy people out of their houses to come out and see what we're talking about," Greg Wright, a member of the Allied-Dunn's Marsh Neighborhood Association, told the group of about 35 gathered at the Head Start building, 2096 Red Arrow Trail.

"We're trying to work with ACORN on relations between tenants and landlords," said Nick Dorneanu, vice president of the landlord group and owner of the Fairwood Arms apartments on Crescent Road.

Housing conditions will be a first target for ACORN, which is organizing a walk-through of the neighborhood on Feb. 21 to show city officials how many buildings fail to meet code.

Dorneanu acknowledged that the area has some slumlords and urged the residents gathered to become active in improving the neighborhood.

"You've got to take it into your hands," he said. "Most of the landlords don't live in the neighborhood."

He pointed to a recent incident in which a gang entered and destroyed an apartment in the middle of the day, but everyone denied having seen anything. But a few residents protested that they were fearful of pointing out offenders because they didn't want to be attacked themselves.

Crime and drug use were among the other persistent neighborhood problems aired at the meeting.

"Sometimes you hear bullets flying - it's not a healthy environment for anyone to live in," said Barry Hayes, who was elected president of the group.

Other officers of the group are Vivian Allen, Renee Anderson and John Peters.

"ACORN's purpose is to have power and take back our community," Allen said. "Stop making excuses about what we cannot do and get on board."

Actually, ACORN's purpose is to sign up the "poor and disenfranchised" in slummy neighborhoods all across the nation and get them to VOTE Democratic. They're a front group for the socialists.

They also fight for mandatory minimum wages:

...and ACORN representatives have been tied to voter fraud in Wisconsin's 2004 voter registration in the Milwaukee and Madison areas.

ACORN is trying to get Green party canadites on the Democratic ticket, and then to run them. Here in Madison, ACORN backes Progressive Dane, a Green party group.

They're also working with Citibank to recruit illegal aliens for home loans:

Yep.

Most tellingly, we learn that a:

"Former ACORN worker said there was ‘a lot of fraud committed’ by [the] group in Florida, as ACORN workers submitted thousands of fraudulent registrations in a dozen states across the country, resulting in a statewide investigation of the group in Florida and multiple indictments and convictions of ACORN/Project Vote workers for voter registration fraud in several states."

And this is just a sampling of the legion of Democrat campaign transgressions revealed in the report.

Silly acronyms that spell words are always a dead giveaway for collectivist claptrap, of one form or another.

Come back and keep reading! If they were truly helping the poor, it would be a different story.

Background on UFT-ACORN Family Day Care Providers Union

In the largest organizing effort in New York in decades, the United Federation of Teachers, New York State United Teachers and ACORN launched a campaign in July, 2005 to unionize more than 30,000 home day care providers across the city – many of whom make just a few dollars an hour while providing a crucial service to low-income families.

The right of family day care providers to organize a union needs legislative approval.

If successful, New York would be only the second state in which home day care workers are unionized. In February, 2005 Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich signed an executive order allowing that state's 49,000 home daycare providers to unionize. Those workers just negotiated their first contract with the State of Illinois .

New York State's day care providers – about 40% of whom are in New York City – receive government subsidies to watch, care for and educate children from low-income families in pre-school and after-school settings.

ACORN Leftist Group Under Investigation For Voter Fraud
October 27, 2004 – The Association Communication Organization for Reform Now (ACORN) is under investigation in several states—including Florida—for alleged involvement in voter registration fraud activities.

ACORN is a radical leftist organization that was founded by a former member of the Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) named Heather, according to FrontPageMagazine. An article from a 1989 issue of the Wanderer magazine has more details on ACORN’s leftist roots. The SDS was a communist organization that was dedicated to fomenting revolution and openly sided with the Viet Cong during the Vietnam War.

ACORN is implicated in voter registration fraud actions in Ohio, Minnesota, Florida, Colorado, and other states.

In Florida, a former ACORN worker claims that this organization deliberately threw out Republican registration forms and paid gathers to get Democratic registrations. ACORN has also been involved in various fraudulent activities throughout the years, according to a report published by the Employment Policies Institute: Who is ACORN???

What will happen is this: ACORN will run the slum landlords out. Their buildings will be condemned due to code violations. The buildings will be razed and luxury condos for the University set will be built on the spot. The poor people who formerly lived there will be priced totally out of the market and run off to Milwaukee. Wealthy liberals will declare a great victory for social and economic engineering before they park their Volvos at the new condos. The poor people can starve and go to Hell as far as they're concerned.

Liberal hypocrisy confuses itself with progress.

They ARE socialists, period. I do love their beneficent and motivational attitude toward "the people" though (leftists always pretend to respect "the people" until their sheeple fail to obey, then the left hates them all):

"We need to get these lazy people out of their houses to come out and see what we're talking about," Greg Wright, a member of the Allied-Dunn's Marsh Neighborhood Association, told the group of about 35 gathered...
