Per scanners and TeamSpeak, large brush fire in the area, threatening Anaheim Hills Area (Serrano). Large power outages in Anaheim, Orange, and other areas per Edison.

Battallion Chiefs just said that the older homes may not be defensable due to lack of brush clearance.
I can see the smoke from John Wayne airport area, smoke is blowing from east to west.

They keep showing snippets on Fox LA 11.
This is the one....it is spreading west toward Anaheim Hills...they are about to annouce evacuations.

241 yet except for smoke...potential threat to 500 homes in City of
Orange....Orange PD authorized to evacuate those homes...no evacs in
Anaheim...real threat to power grid....this is all on OC TRS 4C

I'm noticing smoke. I'm in L.A. County about 40 or so miles away. Can smell the smoke and everything is turning yellow outside.
Engines left Burbank two hours ago...also from LA County Fire...but they are being placed in neighborhoods.....there is a lack of little truck engines from CDF, etc to fight the fire in the brush.....also, the power grid seems to be the major concern.
Whittier, La Habra, La Mirada area is starting to get covered. Lots of smoke.

Wow, that is such a built up area. What do they think sparked the fire? I hope it wasn't Pittsburgh fans, shooting off fire crackers.
This is the reason people buy portable pumps that get the water out of pools to use against the fires.
dang I wish I had a pair of binoculars, looks like one section is burning back toward the southeast, I am sitting on the 7th floor in irvine looking east toward the hills in anahein hills
That's one thing I appreciate about living out in the Coachella Valley; we don't get much of the Santa Ana effect. Now, in Newhall where we lived previously, THAT was a different story!
