With all the sudden worldwide interest on the power of imagery, it is perhaps a good time to ponder how our one party media skews its reports on the demonstrations mounted by the America-hating radical left.
Here is the only wire service photo thus far of yesterday's "The World Can't Wait" rally in Washington, provided by the DNC's Associated Press:
AP caption: A protester holds up a mechanical sign depicting U.S. President George W. Bush's mouth being controlled by an oil drill as they demand for his impeachment in front of the White House Saturday, Feb. 4, 2006 in Washington.
And yet here is a photo from the same event taken by the Free Republic activist, Kristinn:
Of course this is nothing new. Zombietime and others have regularly documented how our one party media goes out of its way to portray these demonstrations in the best light possible. Whereas in fact the uncensored photos give a completely different, and far from flattering, portrait of the protestors.
Why does our media do that?
Doesn't the press normally seek out the most newsworthy or even shocking visual available? Do they choose their photos of administration officials to put them in the best light possible? Or do they do just the opposite?
Doesn't the media claim it is simply reporting the news? Isn't it news when a demonstrator carries a drawing of the current President's severed head?
Some of the photos from Saturday's demonstration proudly displayed on the "World Can't Wait" website.
And no matter how many times our one party media reports on these demonstrations, they never manage to point out that they are in fact only the work of the same very small group of professional (and highly paid) agitators. A group which includes Cindy Sheehan and Medea Benjamin, and most of the other usual suspects.
Why aren't we ever told that?
Isn't that news?
A "what media bias?" ping.
Thanks for the thread.
Not just a severed head but a hand holding it from the top as they did in so many beheading videos.
well, I'm going right out and start burning any embassy I can find. How dare the show this image of our prophet in such a blasphemous way..... death to all non-believers...
Doesn't something like that severed head pic normally warrant at least a talking-to from the USSS?
Oh, right, like THAT'S not terrorism.
Media is too busy writing about how fabulous was the loss by the smashing Al Gore at Sundance Film Festival.
How many people did show up at this "massive" rally?
"Not just a severed head but a hand holding it from the top as they did in so many beheading videos."
Sure. The resemblance to those, especially the photos of Nick Berg's beheading, is certainly intentional.
that's not Bush's head, its peter jennings'
Unless something happens to change the thoughts and actions of the left, I now believe it is inevitable.
"NEWS is what your Editor says it is, unless the Publisher says it isn't," Carl Liberto, former Managing Editor of the Shreveport (LA) Journal, which has been out of business for several years....
The tolerant "HATEFUL" liberals.
How many showed up, they promised "10's of Thousands" in their press releases. There was no coverage that I saw in this area (NY - NJ), most of the news was about the Red Sea ferry.

It was all over the news wires. AP, Reuters, et al.
Let HATE rule us.
"How many people did show up at this "massive" rally?"
I wasn't there. The media forecasts and WCW hype promised more than 300,000. The press accounts say 3,000 to 1,000 attended.
From the photos at WCW's own site, I'd say it was more like two to three hundred.
I hope the Muzzies get her quick!!
The media may ignore it, but the Secret Service wouldn't. There is a sizable team that regularly investigates perceived threats (besides the real ones).
The process is known to be unpleasant, and there is great legal machinery that protects them as they probe intentions and assess the mental state of the subjects.
I would guess that protestor was paid a visit, probably.
