I Am Committed, Serious About Global Warming, Environment (Leftist Rag Gives Feingold Free Ad!)

(Russ Feingold: I am committed, serious about global warming, environment)

A letter to the editor

Dear Editor:

While I appreciate The Capital Times raising the important issue of global warming in its editorial of Jan. 30, I was a little surprised to read that I "need to get a lot more serious about global warming."

I have a long record of supporting initiatives to address the problem of global warming. In fact, in 2003 I voted for the McCain-Lieberman Climate Stewardship Act. I voted against a version of that act last June because it included massive and unneeded subsidies for nuclear power plants. As I said at the time, "the nuclear industry is a mature industry that does not need to be propped up by the taxpayers."

Climate change is one of the most critical issues facing the United States and world community right now. For the sake of future generations, the United States must be a leader in the effort to curb greenhouse gas emissions. That is why, when the administration balked at international global warming discussions last December, I joined a bipartisan group of senators in reminding the administration of its continuing obligation to participate in efforts to address human interference with the climate system.

Throughout my Senate career, I have steadfastly worked to ensure that Wisconsinites have clean air and clean water. I invite this paper, or any of its readers, to contact my office with questions about my longstanding commitment to the environment.

Russ Feingold, U.S. Senator

In 1998, I voted along with 97 fellow Senators against the terms of the Kyoto agreement that Gore signed.

I have steadfastly worked to ensure that Wisconsinites have clean air and clean water ...but no jobs.

(I added the last part.)

Sure, Russ, we are all trying to cut off our supply of oxygen and fresh water just like George Bush is doing through Halliburton. That's the ticket, destroy the planet and when everybody is dead then we will take over. Wait a minute, what if we're dead too? Oh Pooh, I hate it when that happens. All we wanted to do was to destroy our world through abuse. We shouldn't have to be responsible for collateral damage.

LOL! You got that right. I quit working in Madistan over a year ago and started my own business outside of the city limits.

*Smoking Ban.
*Mandatory Paid Sick Days for Employees that work only 12 hours a week.
*Madatory Minimum Wage.

Yeah. It's a Worker's Paradise, alright. If things don't shake loose in the 2006 elections, I'll look like a pretzel, I'll be so knotted up!

So far, NO ONE is challenging Feingold or Kohl for their Senate seats. My CongressLesbian, Tammy Baldwin, has a challenger, but she's made herself out to be "Tinkerbell" and she's pretty much untouchable; and she cries if you're "mean" to her in political debate! She's got it down pat. *Rolleyes*

Russ, let me help you out here.

First, put your hands in front of your face, and bring them to your mouth and nose, covering same.

Now exhale slowly, and notice something very interesting, which is that your breath is WARM as it leaves your lungs, and you know something Russ? That exhaled air contains mostly carbon dioxide because your lungs have already absorbed as much oxygen as they can from the air that you just puffed out, got it?

Alright now, think about this Russ: we have more people on this planet than ever before, billions and billions more, and each and every one of us poor slobs are exhaling nice warm carbon dioxide every minute of every hour, every hour of every day, well - you get the idea I'm sure.

Say Russ? You don't suppose all that extra carbon dioxide might have something to do with global warming do you? You know, the billions and billions of extra people on the planet?

Or do you think it could perhaps just be the leftist-environmental whacko wing of your DemocRAT Party?

Feingold did such a wonderful job with "campaign finance reform" that I hope he gets REALLY SERIOUS about "global warming." It's going to be like the thing about the monkey and the football.
