Not true. The PLO has always aimed for a state inclusive of the entire Mandate, Israel, Jordan, the West Bank and Gaza.

So bottom line here -- Fatah just showed that the whole PA "moderation" and "roadmap" etc were nothing but a sham.

Everyone wants Jerusalem.
Question is who's shaming who (as the song goes), and who's using who to give all appearances of not being the real thief in this regards.

I often said that they are both terrorist organizations. The only difference is that Hamas is willing to state it's goals in English, while Fatah will only talk about the destruction of Israel in Arabic. This so called "road map to peace" is a farcical charade being pushed along by Sec. of State Rice and her State Department as well as her EU chums. Someone please remind her it's the George "W" Bush Presidency and not the George "H" Bush Presidency.

Look at the electorate in "palestine". They voted what they believe, which is terrorism.

Seems to me "democracy" requires a self-governing "demos" to produce a state or nation that will be respectful of their neighbors.

The "palestinians" are, mostly, brainwashed kooks, who have been trained from birth that the main goal in life is to kill jews and destroy Israel. They are damaged goods, and cannot be trusted to make rational decisions. The election will only be useful if we can use it to play rival factions against each other.

They've all got "Coy" and naivete down real good, don't they. The months keep rolling by and we keep talking about the possibility that they may all be clueless. It will be to late by the time we realize that it is perhaps us, the conservatives supporters of Israel, who have really been delusional here, to believe they don't all know what they are really up to. imho

Well, so much for the nonsense put forth by the west that Hamas won due to corruption in Fatah.

If anything, I think Fatah lost because there was not enough corruption. Too many people were not sharing the action and thought they had a better chance to get in on it with Hamas.

"Smite them."

Eventually, that will happen. I don't know anything else, but I do have a peculiar (not prophetic) perspective on that. Look for Hebrew to sometimes be spoken more often publicly in the USA in a few years.
