Now Fatah Demands a State from the Jordan to the Mediterranean 16:16 Jan 31, '06 / 2 Shevat 5766 By Scott Shiloh

The military wing of the Fatah party, the Al-Aksa Brigades, in a post-election effort to outflank the Hamas, says it will step up its terror offensive against Israel.

The group will attempt to drum up public support for more violence against Israel by emphasizing the need to “liberate all of historic Palestine from the [Jordan] river to the [Mediterranean] Sea.”

As political leaders in Israel and around the world lament the fall of the Fatah and the rise of the Hamas to the forefront of the PA leadership, the Fatah, via its armed wing, is hardening its stance towards Israel.

The political goals of the Al-Aksa Brigades leave no room for a Jewish State in the Middle East. In what may be an effort to win back the voting public, the political line of the Brigades is moving closer and closer to that of the Hamas.

In an official announcement released in Gaza on January 30, the Brigades said that the Hamas victory in last week’s election “will not affect the policies of the Al-Aksa Brigades or its resistance to the Zionist occupier.”

“No Palestinian government will prevent the Brigades from continuing in its path of resistance until all Palestinian land is liberated from the defilement of the occupation,” said the Brigades.

Using terminology reminiscent of the Hamas and other radical Islamic terror groups, the announcement continued, “The Al-Aksa Brigades will not be silent and will punish those who try to weaken Palestinian resistance and jihad against the occupier that blocks roads, arrests, and assassinates jihad fighters on the West Bank, and kills innocent children in Gaza.”

Abu Zuheri, a leader of the Brigades, expressed satisfaction with the group’s more militant image. “Palestine from the river to the Mediterranean, coincides with the policy of the Hamas and is a source of pride,” he said.

I wonder at what the final straw must be. How far do things have to go before we finally say to the Middle East, "OK. You guys fight it out, and anyone who wants to do business with us after it's all over, come talk to us. If you choose not to sell us your oil, we'll destroy those of you who are left and just take it."

we are all missing the point. They are just out campaigning for the next Palestinian elections. Terrorism obviously pays in Gaza.

Well, so much for the nonsense put forth by the west that Hamas won due to corruption in Fatah. Fatah obviously knows very well the reason they lost and now they're getting up to speed post haste. Boy, the rhetoric will really ratchet up now with these two seeing who can get ugly the quickest.

I guess if you can't beat em, join em.

I would love for that to become our foreign policy. Too bad an outbreak of common sense is too much to hope for.

This the way I think the W.O.T. needs to be fought. And we need to wake up to the fact that the Saudis have much to answer for, too.

I was talking to a multi-culturalist the other day who used that tired observation, "we're all people." I have to assume there's a true mental block of what's going on. NO ONE who reads stuff like this can actually put Americans on the same level as these "people." Well, perhaps the likes of Kennedy, Michael Moore, Murtha, Sheehan, etc.

But this, "we're all just people" BS is really growing old.

You could give them Saudi Arabia and they wouldn't be happy until the Jews were exterminated. That won't happen.

Giving them land is a waste of time because they won't except peace and Israels right to exist, ever.

Yes, clearly we need to embrace Hamas now that they have heeded the words of Jimmy Carter and begun to act "responsibly"...

Yep, this is like how Hitler came to power. If you can create a bogeyman, and convince a bunch of losers that their lives suck only because of that bogeyman, then it gives the losers something to fight for (or rather, become cannon fodder for, or in the case of the mussies, become living explosive shells for).

Even if they wiped Israel off the map, some Imam would whip them up in a jihad about somebody else that is bothering them. The west dealt with fascism in WW2 by bombing the living crap out of most of Europe and hanging the ringleaders. In the Pacific, the Japanese were so fanatical, the allies had to kill almost everyone on the islands they took because the fanatics chose death over surrender. The W.O.T. will never be won as long as the west continues to allow its hands to be tied by political correctness and a "can't we just get along" mentality.

When I was a young, liberal, and idealistic college sophomore, I was taking a comparative government political science class.

We were having an in class discussion on how to solve the Israel/Palestine issue (e.g. One state solution/two state solution) and one guy stands up and says..

"The Israeli's need to send the Palestinians on their own 'Trail of Tears'".

I was shocked at the time, but now.. I see the guys point.

If they hadn't, WWIII would have come much sooner and at a greater cost.

I believe this is WWIII we are living in.

So bottom line here -- Fatah just showed that the whole PA "moderation" and "roadmap" etc were nothing but a sham. NOw that they are out of power we are seeing thier true FEELINGS and colors. Fatah is just another scum sucking bottom dwelling Terrorist organization that deserves to be wiped from the face of the earth.

This just goes to show "free elections" aren't the panacea they are always touted to be.
