Me too.

Yesterday was the 25th anniversary of Reagan's First Inauguration. I posted about ten threads over an 18 hour period in celebration of that anniversary. The general response was weak. Tomorrow is the 33rd anniversary of Roe v Wade. You can see how this thread has been received. Another weak response. This is the ninth time the Reagan essay on abortion has been posted on FR since 2002. Only one of those threads received over 100 replies. To be exact, 157 back in 2002.

Sometimes I wonder just how conservative FR really is.

If you look at the current breaking news sidebar, you'll see a post called "Top 10 Greatest Quips from Ronald Reagan". Not a very serious thread, yet is has received over 200 replies. Go figure.

FR pretty much covers the spectrum of the GOP. IMHO, the problem with this thread is that it is too long. Most people are looking for a quick read, that is why the post about the 10 greatest quotes is getting more response. Most people don't realize how deep Reagan spoke on issues. Bush has never said more than 4 sentences about abortion in a speech and has never spoke as eloquently or as forcefully on the issue as Reagan. On the plus side, Bush's Supreme Court appointments appear solidly against abortion.

Unfortunately the fate of the unborn seems to generate little interest with many people. I think that most are not educated enough about the evils of abortion. Have you ever seen abortiontv.com? It should be required viewing for anyone seeking an abortion.
