Republicans hold governor's feet to the fire (Schwarzenegger)

GOP activists are set to issue resolutions denouncing Schwarzenegger's key actions. Republican activists are poised to denounce every major action Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has taken in the past few months - from appointing a Democrat chief of staff to proposing a massive statewide building plan to growing the state budget deficit. Drafts of five resolutions, which declare their grievances with the governor, were circulating this week and will probably be discussed as part of a meeting today in Palm Springs among the party faithful, including several leaders from Orange County. "The governor's had a free ride from the conservatives ever since he's been in office. ... That's over," said Mike Schroeder, a Corona del Mar attorney, who participated in conversations about the resolutions and will attend the Palm Springs meeting. The most radical resolution gives the governor a March 15 deadline to fire top aide Susan Kennedy, who served in Gov. Gray Davis' Cabinet and is openly lesbian, or risk losing the party's endorsement for governor.

What they need to do is denounce the list of CA Republicans that before the election disingenuously reassured conservatives that Schwarzenegger was a good conservative, really, trust us.

And in other news...

..and they're so upset they're launching an immediate plan to challenge him in the primary.

As if! This sucks big-time.

Republican Party Chairman Duf Sundheim said that if Republicans remain unhappy with the governor, it could hurt the party's chances of collecting enough campaign money to help elect other Republicans to office.

.... Sundheim believes that by the time the election rolls around, Republicans will be back in the governor's camp.

Notice how the press keep raising the "lesbian" issue, even though no Republican legisaltor or activist has cited that as a reason for concern, just the press.

Obviously, like Rush says... They believe their own BS!!! They actually believe that each and every Conservative or Republican absolutely HAS to be a homophobe.

Up here in NIMBY land, they are more like home-o-phobe's!!!

Homosexuality is a gender issue?

Would rape also be a gender issue under those guidelines?

So what are the important issues to these hot behind the ear Pubs?

She is a lifelong far-left Democrat hack. She is a past executive director of the Democrat party, previous head of CARAL (NARAL, CA) and was a chief strategist for Governor Davis, the bis spending, incompentent governor we recalled.

There are plenty of issues to be "hot" over.

(and no one said anything about her gender, there are plenty of women in government and that hasn't been an issue for 30 or 40 years. The press are trying to make abig deal about her being a lesbian)

And here comes the Party spin in the form of veiled threats:
Republican Party Chairman Duf Sundheim said that if Republicans remain unhappy with the governor, it could hurt the party's chances of collecting enough campaign money to help elect other Republicans to office.

"You're going to have these disagreements in the family as we grow," he said. "It's just part of the fact that we're getting bigger."

Sundheim believes that by the time the election rolls around, Republicans will be back in the governor's camp.

What about the resolution that throws Dufus out on his keister?

I hope that's not the "most radical resolution," as Susan Kennedy was just the tip of the iceberg.

Susan Kennedy

1972:  At age 12, was inspired by actress Jane Fonda's support of American Indian and free-speech causes and opposition to the Vietnam War.

1977:  Lived in Lancaster, Pa., within the evacuation zone of Three Mile Island.  Developed a distrust of the establishment

1979: Enrolls and subsequently drops out of Millersville State College in Pennsylvania "because she was partying too much."

1980:  Moved cross country to join Jane Fonda and Tom Hayden's "Campaign for Economic Democracy," a breeding ground for political training in campaigning, fundraising and field organizing, leading to a series of jobs and becoming one of the state Democratic Party's top field organizers.

198x-1991: Executive director of the California Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action League

1991-1994:  Executive director of the California Democratic Party, selected by then party chairman, Phil Angelides

1992:  Helped lead one of the biggest get-out-the-vote campaigns which put Feinstein in the Senate and helped put Bill Clinton in the presidency.

1993: Political director for Kathleen Brown seeking office of California Governor.

1995 to 1998: Worked as communications director to Democratic U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein.

1995:  Begins program of recovery from alcohol addiction

1998:  Director of the California Democratic Party's Coordinated Campaign, a grass-roots campaign effort for 1998 election.

1998:  Appointed Cabinet secretary by Governor Gray Davis.  She was credited with managing the Democratic governor's initiatives on child support enforcement, energy conservation and health care, among other issues.  Reportedly, she promoted Gray Davis' energy plans in 2001, and issuance of $12 billion in bonds to purchase more power, warning legislators of "Armageddon."  She also acted as chief negotiator in budget discussions with legislators in 2001, angering many that the Governor did not participate more.  (We all know how those energy and budget matters turned out).

1999:  "Married" in a Maui commitment ceremony to lesbian partner Vicki Marti, a psychotherapist.  Democratic lobbyist and party operative Darius Anderson, her best friend, served as her "best man"

2001: Had an active role in approving a $96-million contract with Oracle Corp. to provide software that state managers did not want or need, an issue raised by state Sen. Tom McClintock during confirmation hearings for her 2003 PUC appointment.

2003:  Appointed to a six-year term on the Public Utilities Commission by Gray Davis, with an annual salary of $114,191.  Meanwhile, Gray Davis also appoints her domestic partner, Vicki Marti, to the California Medical Assistance Commission whose function it is to set hospital Medical rates--a plum job paying an annual salary of $99,000 and requiring only 2 meetings per month.

2005:  Reaches her senior year in college after 13 years of part time study.

No problem, mon. Global warming will solve it.
After all, Duf tells us: "Republicans will be back in the governor's camp" by the time the election rolls around.

What's next

A group of Republican activists is working on a set of five resolutions condemning Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger on topics ranging from his chief of staff to his fiscal policy. The drafts should be finished within a week, but Republicans involved in writing the resolutions confirmed they would do the following:

Demand that Schwarzenegger fire top aide Susan Kennedy, a former Gov. Gray Davis Cabinet member, from her post by March 15 or risk losing the Republican Party's endorsement for governor.

Denounce the governor's budget, which the nonpartisan Legislative Analyst said spent $7billion more than last year and would increase the state's deficit by about $2billion.

Criticize the governor for appointing more Democrat judges than Republicans.

Attack his plan to increase the minimum wage by $1 to $7.75 by 2007.

Criticize the governor's $222billion plan to borrow money and increase fees to build roads, water projects, levees and other public needs.

----

Sidenote ---

info from Gub's site, press releases

4 new judges appointed on Jan. 18th and 19th. 3 dems to Superior court judgeships, 1 Rep to a 1st Dist. Court of Appeals judgeship
