Columbine and Abortion Ad Causing Controversy and Ire for Denver Radio Audiences

COLUMBINE AND ABORTION AD CAUSING CONTROVERSY AND IRE FOR DENVER RADIO AUDIENCES

Brian Rohrbough, father of Danny who was slain in the Columbine massacre, made the case on the popular KHOW afternoon Caplis and Silverman show yesterday that he believes there is a link between abortion and the Columbine murders. Colorado Right to Life is airing a commercial on KHOW radio making the connection between Columbine and America’s first abortion law passed in Colorado and signed April 25, 1967. The ad is promoting the Colorado Right to Life – MARCH FOR LIFE – January 21 st 2006 at 1:30 pm at the Colorado State Capitol.

Talk show host, Dan Caplis, admitted during the Rohrbough interview that the radio Commercial is causing controversy and even ire among Denver listeners to the Caplis and Silverman show.

Some, including Craig Silverman, feel sorry that Danny’s death is being used to promote the March for Life. Others think it is wrong that the father of an innocent child murdered at Columbine would stand up and say its time to stop the murder of all innocent children.

Colorado Right to Life Vice President, Leslie Hanks, applauds Brian Rohrbough’s courage. “ It is about time someone spoke the truth so boldly! Brian is saying what our elected officials should have been saying for the nearly forty years that innocent pre-born babies have been murdered in their mother’s wombs”

The controversial radio ad can be heard on www.coloradorighttolife.org

I'm going to take a wiiiiild guess ... and say that's where most of the complaining is coming from.

Abortion is not about saving women’s lives!

Total Abortions since 1973

45,951,133

------------------------------------------------------------

Why the drop after 1960? (in deaths of women from illegal abortions)

The reasons were new and better antibiotics, better surgery and the establishment of intensive care units in hospitals. This was in the face of a rising population. Between 1967 and 1970 sixteen states legalized abortion. In most it was limited, only for rape, incest and severe fetal handicap (life of mother was legal in all states). There were two big exceptions — California in 1967, and New York in 1970 allowed abortion on demand. Now look at the chart carefully.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Abortion Statistics - Decision to Have an Abortion (U.S.)

· 25.5% of women deciding to have an abortion want to postpone childbearing

· 21.3% of women cannot afford a baby

· 14.1% of women have a relationship issue or their partner does not want a child

· 12.2% of women are too young (their parents or others object to the pregnancy)

· 10.8% of women feel a child will disrupt their education or career

· 7.9% of women want no (more) children

· 3.3% of women have an abortion due to a risk to fetal health

2.8% of women have an abortion due to a risk to maternal health

----------------------------------------------------------------------

So how many women’s lives have been saved by abortion?

Only about 3% of abortions since 1972 were reported to be “due to a risk to maternal health.” A reasonable person would recognize that not all of those cases represent a lethal risk. But let’s say they did. That means that nearly 45 million fetuses were butchered to save the lives of about 1.3 million women. Or put another way; 35 babies are killed to save each woman.

Abortion was legal in all 50 states prior to Roe v. Wade in cases of danger to the life of the woman.

The Roe decision is the supreme court's greatest self-inflicted wound since Dred Scott v Sanford.

What's this, Rohrbough's cause dejour? Last year he was wanting to lock up every gun in the world. For years after Columbine he tried to blame the police. It's not that I want to be accused of supporting abortion; its that the source of this message is very suspect. I am deeply sorry that he just can't seem to accept that his child was killed by two deviant jerks.

The decision regarding Roe v Wade told a generation that life is not precious. They just don't give a damn. How many murders last year? 16,000? How many murders in the USA before Roe v Wade? Abortion cheapens life.

I've often heard that the life, or health, of the mother is stretched to include emotional well being and mental health. If so, an actual threat to life from pregnancy complications drops through the floorboards.

And will be legal again in every single state if Roe V Wade is overtuned at the federal level.

You should get your facts straight. Brian Rohrbough is not and never has never been against guns.

Rather than trying to slander someone you should stop, think and check your facts.

You are speaking of Tom Mauser. How anyone could confuse the names
Mauser and Rohrbough is beyond me.

I think you might be thinking of Tom Mauser. Isn't he the dad that's against guns.

Thanks. That does not take away from his conclusion that abortion on demand leads to a degrading of the respect for life.

I am taking it that you mean abortion in case of danger to the woman would be legal in all 50 not abortion on demand. ?
