Molly Ivins: Not. backing. Hillary.

AUSTIN, Texas (Creators Syndicate) -- I'd like to make it clear to the people who run the Democratic Party that I will not support Hillary Clinton for president.

Enough. Enough triangulation, calculation and equivocation. Enough clever straddling, enough not offending anyone This is not a Dick Morris election. Sen. Clinton is apparently incapable of taking a clear stand on the war in Iraq, and that alone is enough to disqualify her. Her failure to speak out on Terri Schiavo, not to mention that gross pandering on flag-burning, are just contemptible little dodges.

It looks more and more like the Witch is going to have to try to find some way to triangulate to the left to keep her nuttier supporters in line.

Molly is just trying to turn Hillary left. Given a choice in November 2007, she'll pull the lever for Hillary without thinking twice about it.

Unless she's seriously challenged from the left she won't care.

Oh please, if Hillary is nominated, Molly will stand in line for hours to vote for her.

The lefties are trying to convince the centrists that Hillary is not a far-left looney like they are. Remember, the Devil's greatest trick is convincing you that he doesn't exist.

A liberal's trick is convincing you that they don't exist.

I hope Hillary does show her true colors. Pandering to the wackjobs sure worked for Dean ;-)

Of course she'll vote for Hillary if she's the nominee. Five or six times, which given Molly's total mass, is almost fair.

Sorry, this helps the sea hag. Molly Ivins withdrawing her support is like a big birthday gift because it supports the illusion of Lord Hildemort "running to the center".

I wish it were otherwise.

The good news is that Lord H is so good at shooting herself in the assets.

It is a large target after all. :-)

..of course, we'll never hear about the war within the dem party between the DLC (semi-radical leftists) & the radical leftists.

One good Greeney running could easily fracture their voting base in 08.

I hope she does. I hope all democrats do. I hope all Republicans do as well. And I really hope that the election is in 2008.

this has got to be the first time I've ever read an Ivins column and not wrenched in spasms.

Ivins is correct - HRC is running the most contrived presidential campaign in the last decade. I mean, does she really think she'll be perceived as being to the right of the average GOP'er on national security?

THAT IS A BALD-FACED, ABJECT, STRAIGHT FROM THE PIT OF HELL LIE!

Ivins and the other liberal kooks will RUN NOT WALK to the polls to pull the lever (several times, if they can get away with it) for Hillary.

Hell, Philadelphia alone will have 108% turnouts in some precincts for Hillary.
