Hypocrisy Causing Democrat Election Losses (Reagan)
NewsMax.com ^ | 20 January 2006 | MICHAEL REAGAN

If the Democrats want to know why they keep losing, all they have to do is run a replay of Martin Luther King Day.

If they do, and if they are not brain dead, they'll immediately notice the difference between Republican President George W. Bush's MLK Day speech at Georgetown University and the rantings of the opposition party.

In one speech, the president took pains to say how proud he was to be in the presence of the president of the NAACP even though that organization has never supported him, has frequently said disparaging things about him, and even ran an ad during the 2000 election campaign which suggested he was somehow complicit in the dragging death of James Byrd in Jasper, Texas.

In spite of all that, on MLK Day the president honored the president of the NAACP, who was present. The president, as always, was gracious and optimistic.

"We recommit ourselves to working for the dream that Martin Luther King gave his life for - an America where the dignity of every person is respected; where people are judged not by the color of their skin - by the content of their character; and where the hope of a better tomorrow is in every neighborhood in this country," Bush said.

The President makes a mistake any time he includes the NAACP in anything. It is an explicitly racist organization and a virtual part of the opposition party, with no honesty at all in its activities. Even as strategery this is still a mistake - if he must acknowledge a "black" organization on MLK day, how about one that actually does some good for the world, instead?

Mega-dittoes. A real leader would stiff the NAACP.

As for the idea that Rats are losing elections, I repeat what I've said many times. Bush was barely re-elected against a lousy candidate. We gained a handful of Senate seats, but they were nearly all open seats in easy states.
We are likely to lose seats in both houses this time around.

The idea that the American people as a whole are waking up to the Rat moral bankruptcy is a myth.

They understand, but their goal is the dissolution of the USA. They want to create division and resentment in order to destroy private property and capitalism. They are not fools - they are Gramscian anti-Americans and wish tp pervert everything America stands for. They are not naive or irrational, they are evil.

Do you want to proclaim right here on FR that the democrats are going to win the House and the Senate? Come on go ahead and do it.

Some freepers were proclaiming a Kerry win all the time in 2004 and when the President won and we increased our majority in Congress those freepers came up with this ridiculous idea that "they were surprised that the President barely won against a weak candidate Kerry" so you they can save the face.

Anyway you need to wear this:

Stop with the insults and the diaper logo.

I do not "want to proclaim" that the Rats will win either house, and wouldn't "want to" even if I believed it, which I don't.

They will, however, gain seats. If the American people were waking up to how horrible they are, that would not happen. In addition, yes, there is a chance that they can win either house or both. Let's not be complacent.

I never "proclaimed" that Effin' Kerry would win. I thought he might win, and that it would be a difficult and close race for Bush. Which it bloody well was.

I think it's you who needs the diaper. You seem to have trouble with "veritas," or the truth.

"Mr. Sunshine" ?

Every now and then, it's possible, J. If you search my posts carefully enough, you will see encouragement and optimism here and there. But am I optimistic just for the sake of optimism? No. I wait until it's warranted.

There is a great deal going wrong for conservatives and Republicans. The solutions to such problems are not easy to see. Our enemy is enormously powerful, unscrupulous, wealthy, and effective at politics. Some FReepers don't seem to understand these things, and need to be reminded.

I firmly believe that without the pajamahadin, Kerry would now be president. Actually, I believe Gore would be, because I think the internet community was just barely enough of an influence to keep Gore out in 2000.

The game is completely different now, and will only get worse for those who do not have logic and reason on their side.

IOW, with the 20th century playing field, those who expected Kerry to win would have been correct.
