Bill Clinton Spends Time In Redmond? [Rumor mill: Bill Clinton to be new CEO of Microsoft?]
WebProNews ^ | 1/9/06 | John Stith

Rumors are always abound all over the place. It could be your cousin is seeing someone a little older than they should be. Maybe your brother got a speeding ticket no one was supposed to know about. Or perhaps a former president of the United States might be considering a job at the top of a tech company.

The blog, VoIP Watch, reported on the number of visits Bill Clinton has been making to Microsoft's facilities up in Redmond, Wa. According to their reporting, Clinton has been in talks with Microsoft for several months, interviewing him for the top slot. This would mean current chief Steve Ballmer would have to step down.

Here's what I know. Sources near Microsoft headquarters report that over the past few months the ex cigar smoking prexy has made trips to Microsoft headquarters and has been interviewing for the top slot as the company looks at ways to transform themselves for the future. Given the global implications of technology, having a leader that is an ex country president would be massive.

Why now? Well Ballmer has driven the company. His hard charging sales leadership style helped Microsoft during a time when that approach was needed. But Microsoft folks I've talked to admit those days are over and a new style is needed to be more change oriented.

They went on to emphasize this is just a rumor and pointed out the trips may have to do with Clinton being on the Microsoft's board. But… with all the rumors of what's what in the tech industry, sometimes it's intriguing to speculate. Bill Clinton running Microsoft is just a rumor and probably nothing but consider the consequences, have a president of the United States running a major multinational corporation. It's been a while that's for sure.

Maybe he's going to be a "political liaison".......someone to protect them FROM the Government, since he KNOWS BEST how to ATTACK business. But, this makes me almost ill...that he would be so close to us (in the same region of this State).....YUCK. Just what we need is the local liberal press spending MORE TIME FAWNING over a CLINTON. YUCK again.

"Here's the conspiracy theory; either microsoft hires Billy Boy or Hillary will sic the Justice Department on the company again when she gets power. : ) "

I was thinking mayby Billy was shaking them down or enlisting them in another globalist scheme to provide free PC's to the Bushmen or something.

Amazingly, many people are still enamored of this bozo. For them, he has "charisma".

Then again, maybe he's going to model for a reprise of the video game "Larry the Lounge Lizard".

Clintoon's DOJ tried to bring MSFT down (probably got more contributions from their competitors); and, I hadn't heard that Billyboy was added to MSFT's Board, but, you had me going for a minute - is this from Scrappleface?

"And Bill Gates is sitting on one big pile of sh!t."

In the beginning was the project, and then the specification; And the plan was without form, and the specification was void.

And darkness was on the faces of the implementors thereof; And they spake unto their leader, saying: "It is a crock of sh!t, and smells as of a sewer."

And the leader took pity on them, and spoke to the project leader: "It is a crock of excrement, and none may abide the odor thereof."

And the project leader spake unto his section head, saying: "It is a container of excrement, and it is very strong, such that none may abide it."

The section head then hurried to his department manager, and informed him thus: "It is a vessel of fertilizer, and none may abide its strength."

The department manager carried these words to his general manager, and spoke unto him saying: "It containeth that which aideth the growth of plants, and it is very strong."

And so it was that the general manager rejoiced and delivered the good news unto the Vice President. "It promoteth growth, and it is very powerful."

The Vice President rushed to the President's side, and joyously exclaimed: "This powerful new software product will promote the growth of the company!"

And the President looked upon the product, and saw that it was very good.

After the subsequent disaster, the suits protect themselves by saying "I was misinformed!", and the implementors are demoted or fired.

Doubt it's true.

If true, it's time to make the Linux switch.
