Warm beer is a way of life in the UK

Its not warm, its cellar temperature, about 45F. Not fridge temperature at 35F.

O.K.

Somebody please tell me what I missed. Why was this poster banned.

I am starting to get tired of this "IBTZ", "Viking Kitty", B.S.

It's like a bunch of 6th graders. What is with all of the itchy "abuse button" trigger fingers around here.

I may be stupid, but I didn't see any reason for an account ban here. Maybe it was "cleaned up" to protect my sensibilities.

Used to be, we welcomed dissent here because we knew we were right, and smart enough to debate it.

Not any more.

"Viking Kitties" is a crutch for those too stupid to debate and defend the truth.

Read post #223

O.K. I read it.

I still don't know why we are so afraid of a little confrontation and debate around here.

Please check the poster's sign up date, his juxtaposition of this issue with "This is the last straw. First they take my Baby Jesus from the front of City Hall. Now they're coming after my beer" in his reply #1, and replies #139 & 223 if you have any further outraged inquiries as to "why was this poster banned?".

I'm not responsible for your reading comprehension, after all, or the dubious skills contained therein.

I am starting to get tired of this "IBTZ", "Viking Kitty", B.S. It's like a bunch of 6th graders. What is with all of the itchy "abuse button" trigger fingers around here

That's fine by me: I never once used such a phrase as "IBTZ" or "Viking Kitty" in this thread--or any other that I can recall. Nor did I hit the "abuse button" on this poster (you'll just have to take my word on that, unless a Mod wishes to weigh in).

What I did do was welcome the poster to FR, for what I was pretty certain would be a short stay. I was correct in both my politeness and my prediction. Kindly vent your splenetic ramblings along these lines elsewhere.

I may be stupid...

*Ahem*

...but I didn't see any reason for an account ban here. Maybe it was "cleaned up" to protect my sensibilities

I had to leave FR shortly after this thread commenced, and was only able to return for brief replies. But as far as I can tell nothing from the troll's OP--not even his reply #1--has been "cleaned up." You really should ask before you imply, and inquire before you accuse. It's the mannerly thing to do.

Used to be, we welcomed dissent here because we knew we were right, and smart enough to debate it. Not any more.

This, I suspect, is an analysis of many cranky bores and their perceived grievances on lonely barricades and, FWIW, it's wrong: I've seen tons of "dissent" expressed here on many different sides of all kinds of issues for years right up to, well, today at FR--and right in this thread. By you, among others, no less.

Imagine that...

But, to your larger point, allow me to observe that most FReepers in good standing participate here within a broad conservative framework & consensus; that "debating" other conservatives within those twin--and rather wide--parameters is often rigorous and exciting enough; and that, further, if we wanted to "debate" leftists, trolls, and other such moonbats there are literally millions of chat rooms, online forums, and blogs that facilitate such encounters. Speaking for myself, I come to FR to share with, learn from and, yes, "debate" other conservatives.

Your complaint along these lines is weak.

"Viking Kitties" is a crutch for those too stupid to debate and defend the truth

Again with a phrase I've never used, in a context I've never indulged in: "in forum" search of posts is your friend. Failure to employ it before flaming is indeed a "crutch" of the grumpy, and the weak-minded.

I love cold beer, BTW.

Carry on.

Number one, this isn't a debate site, number two, you're in no position to insult anyone's intelligence, and number three, if the zot threads aren't to your liking, don't read them.

On the Mythbuster's show they tried numerous things. I think the myth(?) was using compressed air. They tried a fire extinquisher and some other fancy stuff. I usually dunk it in ice water for a few minutes. They did that, which came in second by a minute or two compared to SALTY ice water - which has a cooler temperature.

I can't remember how good a job the extinqisher did. But it sure was messy!

We don't debate trolls.
Period.

And as I quote:
"Despite the wailing of the liberal trolls and other doom & gloom naysayers, we feel no compelling need to allow them a platform to promote their repugnant and obnoxious propaganda from our forum. Free Republic is not a liberal debating society. We are conservative activists dedicated to defending our rights, defending our constitution, defending our republic and defending our traditional American way of life. " -Jim Robinson

Most packaged ice is kept at a temperature considerably below 32 degrees as does the freezer in your refrigerator; when salt is added to the ice, it melts this very cold ice and brings the temperature of the brine down to about 10-12 degrees.

Adding ordinary water to ice brings the brine down to 32 degrees and no colder.

If drinking beer on the way home from work can make you drunk, you've got one hell of a commute.

I mentioned him and quoted him.
Forum rules say that when you do that, you ping the person you're mentioning.
Don't like that?
Too bad.

But you can't argue with the boss.
So you insult instead.
Real cute.

Real cute.

If I disagree with the boss, I will argue with the boss.
The "zot parties" that happen here these days are childish and stupid.
You, still, are a brown noser.

"If I disagree with the boss, I will argue with the boss."

You did disagree, and you chose to whine instead as shown by these two posts:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/1553168/posts?page=242#242
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/1553168/posts?page=244#244

Especially the second one, which you posted AFTER seeing the boss post 223.
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/1553168/posts?page=223#223

I answered your little whine by quoting the boss directly:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/1553168/posts?page=249#249

And instead of responding to that, you say 'Brown noser':
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1553168/posts?page=254#254

Honestly, you can't argue with forum policy on trolls, which is they don't get debated.
So what is your problem?

Welcome to FR, for what will no doubt be a short stay.

I hope not, as I heard about this on the radio the other morning, and it's yet another example of the MO legislature deciding that there's a problem, and then coming up with a really stupid solution.

There's my own representative, who couldn't seem to drum up enough support to outlaw "adult entertainment" in its own bill, tried to tag it on to a completely unrelated bill. Unfortunately for him, it's unconstitutional under the MO State Constitution. And then there's the world famous example of stupidity where the MO state legislature outlawed sex in the state. Of course, they only tried to outlaw homosexual sodomy, but they were in such a hurry to get it voted on, they weren't terribly careful in the language. So they outlawed all sex in the state, even between married couples.

I spent a lot of time on farms in my missspent youth.

Salt, water, ice-not always available.

Several liquified gases were, just don't turn 'em loose indoors!
