"And then there's the world famous example of stupidity where the MO state legislature outlawed sex in the state. Of course, they only tried to outlaw homosexual sodomy, but they were in such a hurry to get it voted on, they weren't terribly careful in the language. So they outlawed all sex in the state, even between married couples."

Too bad it didn't stick.

SHOPKEEPER: The wheat is from Kansas, and the molasses comes from Missouri.

GRANDMA SARAH: Well, sir, we'll do without molasses. Anything from Missouri has a taint about it.

GRANDPA SAMUEL: Now, Grandma, you've got to tread lightly now we're here in Texas. Lots of nice elements from Missouri coming West.

GRANDMA SARAH: Never heard of nice things from Missouri coming West. And treading lightly is not my way. (To the shopkeeper) We're from Kansas. Jayhawkers, and proud of it.

SHOPKEEPER: I know how you feel. I'm a Hoosier, myself.

GRANDMA SARAH: Personally, I don't think much of Hoosiers neither.

In Guam I found a Japanese beer called "Nest Beer" going for $2.50 a case. Yes, a CASE! For $2.50 a case, I might even give a beer called "Urine beer" a try. I bought eight cases my last trip to the Rock. It was significantly better than Budweiser. Even before the price was taken into account.

Busch Gardens has the same setup...but it's right out of the brewery tap. I went there one weekend and we spent the afternoon crossing back and forth for free beers (maximum two free samples per visit).

Let me tell you, I disagree wholeheartedly with bmwcyle. That was the best beer I have ever had. Ever. Maybe I had the good vat. Maybe the Bud Man decided not to pee in this bunch. Maybe they forgot to hook up the skunk. I dunno. It was bar none the most flavorful brew (without being overhopped) I ever had. Second best beer, oddly, Carta Blanca in Monterrey. Right next door to the brewery there, too.

And I don't usually like straight pilsners, so maybe it was the brewery factor. My preference is stuff like Whitbread or maybe Red Wolf (when it was still around--CURSE YOU A-B!).

As I recall, back around 1983, Weidamanns went for about $5.00 a case, but that included the deposit on the bottles.

Florida had no deposit. Of course, ABC Beer went $7 a case, as did Schlitz. $5 case would have been nice for a poor thirsty student...

Hey, Joe, we need another barkeep over here!

Sorry, man, the smoking bans have put me out of business. (just kidding)

Jim graciously allowed us a smoking lounge but the doors were shut sometime back due to inattention and it hasn't reopened.

I agree and "Sir" should go along with that!

Some strage folks (I hear it's primarily Germans) actually like warm beer...

Women waiting for their date to pick them up should be forced to sit in ice water.
