CHICAGO, Jan. 5 - Mayor Richard M. Daley was explaining away $48 million in overruns for renovation of a terminal at O'Hare International Airport when a regular at his daily news conferences asked if the mayor would be reciting a similar refrain, five or 10 years hence, for busting the budget in his $15 billion expansion of the airport.
I'm coming back in five or 10 years?" Mr. Daley replied. "Thank you!"
It used to be that no one (let alone the mayor himself) questioned the longevity of Mr. Daley, the country's longest-serving big-city mayor whose staggering margins in four re-elections earned him the name originally bestowed on his father, the legendary political boss Richard J. Daley - Mayor for Life.
But mired for months in the most difficult stretch of his mayoralty and with a ballooning corruption scandal swirling ever closer to his City Hall suite, Mr. Daley has lost some of his political luster. He faces opposition on the City Council he long controlled. Ordinary voters lob accusatory questions his way. And for the first time since Mr. Daley took office 16 years ago, a serious and well-known politician from his own Democratic Party, Representative Jesse L. Jackson Jr ., is doing early legwork for a possible challenge in next year's mayoral race.

Quick call for end to gun ownership in city to take the fools minds off our corruption.
He is feeling a bit desperate he pushed out his gun control proposals again, the seemingly last gasp of corrupt liberals.
daley is a great example of why his is the minority party.
Replacing him with jackass jr. would be a major kick in the ash to Chicago, but probably unavoidable.

FBI INSTRUCTED BY US ATTORNEY SPECIAL COUNSEL PATRICK FITZGERALD TO PROBE ILLINOIS POLITICIANS AND PRO-ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION GROUP ON HELPING ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS
One month and one day ago today, a "pro-illegal immigrant" group in Illinois, Illinois Coalition of Immigrant and Refugee Rights (ICIRR), sponsored an event at Navy Pier, hosting many "admitted" illegal immigrants and Illinois Politicians on the same stage. On this day, our Governor, Rod Blagojevich even signed an Executive Order (number 10) creating the New Americans Immigrant Policy Council, that would cater to many of these "illegal" immigrants.
Based on the events of this day, a complaint was filed with the US Attorney's office, citing crimes against the People of Illinois. Specifically, aiding and abetting known felon's.
Illegal Immigrants are just that....Illegal. Just as "trespassing" is to someone forces their way into your home. There is no "level" of the law, simply the infraction thereof. The word "undocumented" was created to lesson the perception of the crime of crossing our borders illegally even though, even an "undocumented" immigrant is still....a "felon".
News agency's like CBS and NBC in Chicago, consistently blur the line between "legal" and "illegal" immigrants. It was these consistently inaccurate reporting practices, as well as our state politicians catering to the "illegal" immigrants that lead to the complaint to the U.S. Attorney.
On December 13th, 2005, U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald instructed the Agent in Charge of the Chicago office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation to "seek and bring action as their office deems appropriate" regarding these charges.
We look forward to our politicians finally answering our questions as to why they are catering to some criminals in this state, while they supposedly seek justice with others.
