I do not know the real story but I want to know how many of their followers tithed 10% so they could fly first class to go skiing.

A pastor's salary comes out of offerings. Should members micro manage how he spends it, if he isn't violating any of God's laws?

Having read up about this guy, I'm going to assume the wife is at fault. There is little doubt they feel entitled to vast weatlh.

I would guess that the majority of the Osteen's income is generated from Joel's book sales and maybe personal appearances, not from "tithing" their congregation. I believe the book is currently a bestseller.

I suspect that there are a lot charities who take in a lot of that money.
If the pastor is the one responsible for any good works being done, he may be entitled to a nice vacation every once in a while.

I read somewhere that he doesn't take a salary from the church.

Well I don't want to know how many of their followers tithed 10%, it's not coming out of my pocket.

His followers tithe 10% for the church which does a lot of good work for not only the community but other nations as well. Joel's personel wealth comes from his books which he has rightfully earned. The Osteens are good people who should be admired. God wants all of us to do well, we should not show jealousy, talk bad or punish someone who might be an achiever. It was just two women on a plane who did not see eye to eye. We are all sinners and make mistakes, who knows what really happened. Does it matter? God will be the judge. What have you done to help others, do you love Jesus? Maybe you should focus on something positive. A relationship with Jesus is about as positive as it can get. Open your vision and expand your horizons. Good luck and god bless you.

American taxpayers double, triple, quadruple (and more) "tithe" so their political leaders/public "servants" (barf) can go First Class.........and beyond.
Sinful in both cases.
