Banned In Boston!
The Ann Coulter Column Too Hot for USA Today

by Ann Coulter Posted Jul 26, 2004

Ann Coulter, the witty, vivacious HUMAN EVENTS columnist and best-selling author, was hired by USA Today to offer commentary about this week’s Democratic National Convention, but her first column was summarily rejected late last night.

“Apparently," said Coulter, "USA Today doesn’t like my ‘tone,’ humor, sarcasm, etc. etc., which raises the intriguing question of why they hired me to write for them in the first place. Perhaps they thought they were getting Catherine Coulter.”

In a sort of package deal, USA Today plans to have Michael Moore offer commentary at the Republican National Convention next month. “My guess is they will ‘get’ his humor” said Coulter. We agree.

Below is the Coulter column, in full, that caused all the ruckus. Coulter says: "Examples of their specific complaints are in ALL CAPS below. (Most of it was nonspecific B.S. about not liking my 'tone' and my column not being 'humorous' or 'coherent')."

USA Today promised us a comment on the Coulter imbroglio, which we will post as soon as we get it.

HUMAN EVENTS has learned that conservative columnist Jonah Goldberg of National Review will be Ann Coulter's replacement for the USA Today convention commentary and has confirmed that Michael Moore will provide liberal commentary during the GOP Convention. (For more on this developing story, click here.)

----------

Here at the Spawn of Satan convention in Boston, conservatives are deploying a series of covert signals to identify one another, much like gay men do. My allies are the ones wearing crosses or American flags. The people sporting shirts emblazoned with the "F-word" are my opponents. Also, as always, the pretty girls and cops are on my side, most of them barely able to conceal their eye-rolling.

USA Today: EYE-ROLLING? AT WHAT?

Democrats are constantly suing and slandering police as violent, fascist racists -- with the exception of Boston's police, who'll be lauded as national heroes right up until the Democrats pack up and leave town on Friday, whereupon they'll revert to their natural state of being fascist, racist pigs.

USA Today: WHAT DEMOCRATS SUE THE POLICE? BUT THEY WON'T ACTUALLY REVERT TO BEING FASCIST PIGS, DON'T YOU MEAN THE DEMS WILL THINK THEY HAVE REVERTED TO BEING FASCIST PIGS?

A speaker at the Democratic National Convention this year, Al Sharpton, accused white police officers of raping and defacing Tawana Brawley in 1987, lunatic charges that eventually led to a defamation lawsuit against Sharpton and even more eventually, to Sharpton paying a jury award to the defamed plaintiff Steve Pagones. So it’s a real mystery why cops wouldn’t like Democrats.

USA Today: IS THAT LAST SENTENCE SARCASTIC? IF SO, YOU SURE LOST ME.

As for the pretty girls, I can only guess that it’s because liberal boys never try to make a move on you without the UN Security Council's approval. Plus, it’s no fun riding around in those dinky little hybrid cars. My pretty-girl allies stick out like a sore thumb amongst the corn-fed, no make-up, natural fiber, no-bra needing, sandal-wearing, hirsute, somewhat fragrant hippie chick pie wagons they call "women" at the Democratic National Convention.

USA Today: NOT FUNNY, I DON'T GET IT.

Apparently, the nuts at the Democratic National Convention are going to be put in cages outside the convention hall. Sadly, they won't be fighting to the death as is done in WWE caged matches. They're calling this the "protestor's area," although I suppose a better name would be the "truth-free zone".

USA Today: CLARIFY WHICH NUTS (NOTE FROM AC: THAT KILLS THE JOKE OF THE NEXT PARAGRAPH)

I thought this was a great idea until I realized the “nut” category did not include Sharpton, Al Gore, Bill Clinton, and Teddy Kennedy -- all featured speakers at the convention. I’d say the actual policy is only untelegenic nuts get the cages, but little Dennis Kucinich is speaking at the Convention, too. So it must be cages for “nuts who have not run for president as serious candidates for the Democratic Party.”

Looking at the line-up of speakers at the Convention, I have developed the 7-11 challenge: I will quit making fun of, for example, Dennis Kucinich, if he can prove he can run a 7-11 properly for 8 hours. We’ll even let him have an hour or so of preparation before we open up. Within 8 hours, the money will be gone, the store will be empty, and he’ll be explaining how three 11-year olds came in and asked for the money and he gave it to them.

USA Today: I DON'T GET IT.

For 20 years, the Democrats wouldn’t let Jimmy Carter within 100 miles of a Convention podium. The fact that Carter is now their most respectable speaker tells you where that party is today. Maybe they just want to remind Americans who got us into this Middle East mess in the first place. We’ve got millions of fanatical Muslims trying to slaughter Americans while shouting “Allah Akbar!” Yeah, let’s turn the nation over to these guys.

With any luck, Gore will uncork his speech comparing Republicans to Nazis. Just a few weeks ago, Gore gave a speech accusing the Bush administration of deploying “digital Brown Shirts” to intimidate journalists and pressure the media into writing good things about Bush -- in case you were wondering where all those glowing articles about Bush were coming from.

The last former government official to slake his thirst so deeply with the kool-aid and become a far-left peacenik was Ramsey Clarke and it took him a few years to really blossom. Clinton must have done some number on Gore. Then again, with his yen for earth tones in a man's wardrobe, maybe Gore's references to "Brown Shirts" was intended as a compliment.

Only one major newspaper -- the Boston Herald -- reported Gore’s “Brown Shirt” comment, though a Bush campaign spokesman's statement quoting the "Brown Shirt" line made it into the very last sentence of a Los Angeles Times article. The New York Times responded with an article criticizing “both” Republicans and Democrats for using Nazi imagery. Democrats call Republicans Nazis, the Republicans quote the Democrats calling Republicans Nazis and “both” are using Nazi imagery. (It’s a cycle of violence!)

The nuts in the cages are virtual Bertrand Russells compared to the official speakers at the Democratic Convention. On the basis of their placards, I gather the caged-nut position is that they love the troops so much, they don’t want them to get hurt defending America from terrorist attack. “Support the troops,” the signs say, “bring them home.”

That’s my new position on all government workers, except the 5% who aren’t useless, which is to say cops, prosecutors, firemen and U.S. servicemen. I love bureaucrats at the National Endowment of the Arts funding crucifixes submerged in urine so much -- I think they should go home. I love public school teachers punishing any mention of God and banning Christmas songs so much -- I think they should go home.

Walking back from the convention site I chatted with a normal Bostonian for several blocks -- who must have identified me through our covert system of signals. He was mostly bemused by the Democrats’ primetime speakers and told me he used to be an independent, but for the last 20 years found himself voting mostly Republican. Then he corrected himself and said he votes for the “American.”

I’d say I love all these Democrats in Boston so much I want them to go home, but I don’t. I want Americans to get a good long look at the French Party and keep the 7-11 challenge in mind.

USA Today: WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY "THE FRENCH PARTY"? I DON'T GET IT...

July 25, 2003  |  Liberals see Ann Coulter as a Republican she-devil with skirts so short you can see her brains. Others view her as the blonde babe savior promised to the American right in the pages of fundamentalist scripture. Ann Coulter is defiantly the last woman in this country still carrying the torch for the long-dead Red baiter Joseph McCarthy. Look at the full moon above Washington, D.C., and see Ann wearing McCarthy's spurs as she rides her broomstick through the hot night.

But that's Coulter as a political creature. What about Coulter as a woman? For years this 40-something woman has worked so hard to become the she-god of the Republican zeitgeist that she's forsaken any personal life. She has no marriage or long-time partner -- her social life consists of sporadic dating. We should worry that she is dooming herself to spinsterhood, rather than assume Coulter practices free love or is still in the closet. Such speculations would be cruel.

And the truth is, Coulter seems sweetly frivolous when she isn't spouting off right wing clichés. Who would have guessed that she doesn't have a clue about American culture? She is under the impression that "Forrest Gump" is a recent flick. She only first saw Jimmy Stewart in "It's a Wonderful Life" last year. Like a perpetual grad student, Coulter's favorite books are the pages of pre-Commie Russians. She also follows the Grateful Dead. I'm sure you heard the rumors that Strom Thurmond read Ralph Ellison and dug Miles Davis, so maybe it's true -- members of the right wing have soul.

Coulter spoke to Salon by phone from New York.

I'm looking at the gorgeous photo of you on the cover of your new book "Treason." Is there a difference between Republican beauty and Democratic beauty?

I don't know. I'm not really good at questions like that. I'm much better in the world of ideas. No. I'm sorry. [Pause.] This is something I do have expertise in: I give a lot of college speeches, and half the room is usually angry protesters with placards. Scattered throughout the audience are a few pretty girls here and there, and at the end of the speech it's always the pretty girls that come up to me. Always. In college, any woman is beautiful, and to see these women that don't bathe, don't take care of themselves, don't dress in a way that is vaguely flattering, is like walking into a mining camp. And that seems to be intentional.

Do you look back at yourself when you were that age and wince, or were you attractive?

I don't look back and wince at anything, except there were a few times I could have been tougher on the Democrats...

My Dinner with Ann [Ann Coulter Interview]

My Dinner With Ann

by George Gurley and Anna Jane Grossman

Ann Coulter showed up for dinner at Cafe Luxembourg wearing a tight, stretchy blue shirt, white pants and Chanel flats. As the blond babe noire of liberal America sat down across from me, I noticed that she was beaming. And no wonder: Her new book, Treason—in which she passionately defends Joseph McCarthy and makes the case that liberals from the 1940’s to the present have not only wrecked the country but are traitors—has sold over 200,000 copies and was No. 3 on the New York Times best-seller list. And she’d just gotten word that she’d be getting a $3 million advance for her next book. Her pal Matt Drudge broke the news on his Web site.

Even Ms. Coulter’s conservative cohorts have been taken aback by Treason. Right-wing blogger Andrew Sullivan wrote an article for the London Sunday Times, titled "The Problem With Ann," in which he declared: "American politics has been badly damaged by the scruple-free tactics of those like Michael Moore and Ann Coulter. In some ways, of course, these shameless hucksters of ideological hate deserve each other. But America surely deserves better." (During dinner, Ms. Coulter would refer to Mr. Sullivan’s Web site as "some gay guy’s blog.") The Wall Street Journal’s Dorothy Rabinowitz really went for the jugular, calling Ms. Coulter the "Maureen Dowd of the conservatives."

"They’re getting very, very angry," Ms. Coulter said as she ordered a glass of white wine. "Hopping mad they are! Among the things I’ve accomplished in three weeks—which 30 years of soporific academics have not been able to accomplish—is that I’ve gotten liberals to admit there were Soviet spies streaming through the government. Point two, I’ve turned comparisons to Michael Moore and Maureen Dowd into insults."

She laughed her throaty laugh, said she was starved and ordered tuna.

"I think I’m going to lead the way to Joe McCarthy fan clubs," she said. "Renaissance interest in Joe McCarthy is just enormous."

What would she say if Joe McCarthy walked in?

"‘Have a seat, Joe! We have a lot to talk about.’ I would love to meet him more than any person who has lived in the past 50 years. Because he was a really funny guy. He had quite a way with words. And he had liberals down. Oh, he had them down! Their phony accents from Groton and Harvard. Oh, the way he made fun of the elites!"

But didn’t he ruin hundreds of lives?

"Not one," she said.

A man at a nearby table was holding a cell phone to his ear and gesturing to Ms. Coulter. He leaned over and told her that his boss, a man named Greg—the other party on the phone call—was wild about her.

"God bless him," Ms. Coulter said. She took the cell phone to have a few words with this Greg.

"I do take that the right way—I’m a conservative girl," she said into the cell phone. "O.K. Well, the next time you’re in New York, I’ll look for you. Bye, Greg."

I asked if she was now part of the establishment.

"All the right people still hate me," she said, "so don’t accuse me of going mainstream.

"It’s a different world now," she continued. "Liberals can’t control the information we get. We’ve got the Internet—and we’ve still got these old fogies living in the 1980’s afraid of upsetting Kay Graham. ‘Oh, maybe they won’t like me at The New York Times!’ More people read the Drudge Report than The New York Times."

Ms. Coulter recently rented a penthouse apartment in the Miami building where Matt Drudge lives. The two of them had come up from Florida just the weekend before for a party at her agent’s apartment.

Ms. Coulter said when Mr. Drudge told his mother that his friend Ann Coulter was going to defend Joe McCarthy, his mother had said in an urgent tone, "Drudge, you’ve got to stop her..."

Part TWO:

My Dinner With Ann [FR Mentioned; Coulter talks about TV show]
The New York Observer ^ | August 26, 2003 | George Gurley
Posted on 08/26/2003 11:48:25 AM PDT by GulliverSwift

Ann Coulter was wearing a black cocktail dress, a Cartier watch and a diamond bracelet when she walked into Cafe Luxembourg. We hadn't had dinner for a few weeks and I wanted to see what was on her mind. But first I told her that over the weekend I'd stopped by the Book Hampton bookstore in East Hampton and noticed they had just one copy of her New York Times best-seller Treason: Liberal Treachery from the Cold War to the War on Terrorism, and it was tucked away out of sight. Meanwhile there'd been bountiful displays of such liberal titles as Stupid White Men, the Radical Reader and The Chomsky Quartet.

She laughed. "They often do not have it at all," she said, adding that friends and conservative fellow travelers alert her when a bookstore seems to be hiding her book. "Now that conservatives have an Internet community, these right-wingers are like guerrilla warriors," she said. "They send in reports to my Web page, they post it on freerepublic.com."

How had Barnes and Noble been treating her?

"They've been fantastic!" she said. "They have a floor display! Although one Barnes and Noble that's been slow to stock my book is the one on the West Side, 83rd and Broadway. Got a lot of reports on that one!"

Ms. Coulter had just returned from a book tour in Ohio and Indiana. She got searched at the airport; she told me she wished more attention was paid to "swarthy Middle Eastern–looking men with smoke pouring out of their trousers" than to her underwear. She added that she wished passengers would "rebel and beat airport security senseless …. It's just stupid. No one thinks it's safer, and no one thinks it helps to goose little old ladies, to go pawing through my underwear. And what sort of person would sign up to do that? Why should we be polite to these people? These are people who would sign up for the SS."

But she loved the Midwest.

"Man, meeting real Americans—when you spend a lot of time in New York and L.A., you forget how great the average American is," she said. When she got back to New York, she attended Geraldo Rivera's wedding.

She ordered white wine, chilled soup and the salmon spring rolls. She said she hopes to plug her book until Labor Day, then take it easy until mid-September when the paperback of her previous best-seller, Slander: Liberal Lies About the American Right, comes out.

She said she's been thinking about Arnold Schwarzenegger and the California recall.

"It's just too much fun—it's so great," she said. "It's the classic example of how Democrats govern, that's what's so great about it …. It's unbelievable what they've done to that state. It's mind-boggling!"

Did she think Hillary Clinton will run for President?

"She'll wait for the opening," she said. "I'm just glad she's gone away and we can talk about Arnold now. And I love that the Clintons are solidly behind Gray Davis. Democrats still won't give up on this guy. I really have moved on from the Clintons. I really consider them a bore. Arnold—now that's interesting. That's gonna be fun!"

She said the real danger, if any, is 2008.

"I don't know who we're going to run, and the Republican Party has a history of running people who they think are electable, like Gerald Ford, George Bush Sr. and Bob Dole. That is how you can have another Hillary Presidency."

I asked if people were afraid of Treason.

"Oh, yes," she said. "Liberals are terrified because I tell the truth, and people are reading it. And they've been lying about this for 50 years, and the truth is getting out there. I think there has been almost no liberal that hasn't denounced me. Look at Slander. Every liberal book being written right now is merely a response to Slander—[Joe] Conason, [David] Brock, [Al] Franken. I mean, Treason is going to keep them tied up for the next 30 years. They're squealing like mad, but it's too late—I've redeemed Joe McCarthy, it's done. People give me Joe McCarthy T-shirts, there's going to be a Joe McCarthy doll, there's another Joe McCarthy book coming out. It's over."

She said that liberals' first tactic is to label any conservative as "dumb"; if that doesn't work, the fall-back position is "crazy."

She said she was going to Los Angeles the next day, to appear on her friend Bill Maher's HBO show and to meet with people about her own TV project. She declined to give details other than that she'll be the host.

We talked about an unflattering photo that Time magazine had run of her last month.

"It's the strangest thing you've ever seen," she said. "You just look at that photo, and photos will never have the capacity to influence you again. That's the strange thing about liberal attacks on me: They can't hide me from the public. People can see me talking on TV, they can read my columns. They're not going to be able to persuade people that I'm giving orders to Salvadorean death squads. Like Ronald Reagan said, you can always trust the American people. They know when it's nonsense."

After we'd eaten, we got around to Nixon's "enemies list." She said the actual list was a myth.

"Needless to say, it was John Dean," she said. "Nixon never saw it. It was a figment of John Dean's imagination. I was always suspicious of it even before I looked it up and talked to some of Nixon's ‘colleagues' about it. Because it's just inherently implausible! He needs a list? Do you need a list? I mean, anyone in America could make a list of Ann Coulter's enemies. Nixon needed a list? It's so absurd! Oh, these liberals are such paranoid and insane people! It is so amazing: They really think that John Ashcroft is carefully monitoring their surfing of panties.com. They really think that.

"They are so predictable in their behavior," she continued. "Read The New York Times' letters to the editor—it's all the same thing. They're always, ‘I'm shocked,' ‘I'm appalled,' ‘I'm bewildered,' ‘I'm frightened,' because John Ashcroft is ‘frightening,' ‘shocking,' ‘bewildering,' ‘perplexing!' You read through the letters to the editor right now in the war on terrorism, and you realize how the myth of McCarthyism was created, this idea that people were terrified, frightened—because this is what letter-writers to The New York Times are saying every single day! It's my favorite section of the paper, other than the obituaries now that the old Commies are dying off. The letters to the editors are hilarious. Classics. Unintentionally hilarious. John Ashcroft arrested a Muslim—‘I'm frightened, I'm frightened!' Laugh-out-loud funny! In fact, when I talk to my friends at night, that is one of things we always talk about. We can quickly identify to each other what the best letter was that day."

Ms. Coulter said she was going to appear on Comedy Central's The Daily Show soon and that she loved its host, Jon Stewart, who she called "the No. 1 funny liberal in America."

Did she think she could convert him?

"Yes. Absolutely," she said. "I'd have to spend a lot of time with him. But yes, you can see he's someone …. The problem is, a lot of liberals just don't care about politics, so they'll stay liberal. But if he cared enough to engage—he's a really smart guy, and I think I can convert anyone who's smart. I love him."

What does she look for in a boyfriend?

"A large portfolio. That's a joke. I'm a look-ist. Height—very important. Funny. Right-wing. Skier. I don't always get that one. Did I mention nice?"

How did she go about dating?

"Well, I don't really go about anything. They have to go about dating me."

Earlier, I'd asked her about some anti-war Hollywood actors (Tim Robbins, Ed Norton) whom she'd written off as "sissy boys putting on little girls' plays."

Were there any actors she liked?

"Bruce Willis. He's a total stud. He's a Republican. Bill Pullman. Andy Garcia."

But her No. 1 lust object seemed to be the subject of her book.

Joe McCarthy, she said, was "a totally studly guy. He was a big bear of a man. Big, handsome man. Yes, McCarthy really would have been perfect. He was funny, he was big, he was studly, he was a boxer. Very solid on the issues. Really knew how to tick off liberals. He gets bonus points for that." She laughed.

Actress Hilary Swank and her husband Chad Lowe were at the bar. Ms. Swank had definitely noticed Ms. Coulter and was pointing her out to Mr. Lowe and another male companion. When they passed by our table quickly on the way out, Ms. Swank said a quiet "Hi" while Mr. Lowe looked sheepishly at the ground.

Ms. Coulter told me she didn't know who they were. She wondered if Ms. Swank might be conservative.

"Younger people are much more likely to be right-wing," she said. "I think they get sick of their professors. It's a natural instinct for a young person to rebel against authority. And there's no better way to piss off your professor than to be a Republican."

What did she think New York Times Op-Ed columnist Thomas Friedman was up to that evening?

"Probably writing up an article about his ‘friend Muhammad' and how his ‘stubby Arab fingers were feeling the small of my back,'" she said. "I cannot take those articles! He's even more of a girl than Maureen Dowd: ‘I was doing this, and he said to me and my friend, and I was in an elevator'—do I need the atmospherics?' Get to the point! He writes like a girl. It's like he's writing about his coffee klatch."

Anyone at The Times who doesn't write like a girl?

I had breakfast with Ann Coulter today...

Saw it with my own two eyes
4/17/99 Self

Today I Attended the breakfast for Ann Coulter, held at the Piedmont Society headquarters in Darien CT. It was a great affair, with simple but well prepared food, and about 120 GOP faithful. Breakfast consisted of scrambled eggs, quartered pan-fried potatoes, bacon, sausage links, And assorted sliced fruit with bagels and rolls and a small glass of orange juice and plenty of coffee for all. The place was nice inside, old fashioned design, which was OK since the building was civil war era architecture, complete with hanging chandeliers for lighting.

Breakfast was served first with Ann speaking starting about 09:25. The following account is from my notes and is as accurate as I could write given I ain’t no stenographer. So, here goes!

Ann spoke of how when she went down to powder her nose, the waitstaff asked her if she was the one who hated Clinton! (Her humor was wonderful, And it continued).

She began her speech with the efforts of democrats to try to have us move on now, since the impeachment was over. Her question to them was, “Move on to what?” She said she was not ready to move on because he is still there And the results of his actions are being seen by all of us. He lied to friends, family, Associates, his cabinet, his wife And to the American Public. She Asked us what does this pattern of lies lead up to? Bill Clinton’s lies raised questions about character, where will we move to? Due to his lies, we cannot be certain of what he says And what he believes. Now we are at war, we have every reason to be uncertain of what he says, for there is a lack of trust. We were reminded of being told to wait, to be patient, because of going easy now, according to Clinton-Speak, there would be a future payoff, just trust him!

She quoted Milton Friedman when speaking of honesty in society, And how one of the requirements of to have a capitalistic society, is we must have personal honesty. She brought up the references to ‘Why can’t we be more like Europe?’ And Friedmans response, ‘Like Francois Mitterrand? It appears that capitalism never made it to France’.

She then went onto the lies of Clinton, prefacing this part with comments from GHW Bush, And his statements concerning excess interference in personal lives, And how much of this was sleaze in tabloid journalism. She responded with what about the sleaze in the White House? She spoke of the lies about DNA, the description of the relationship with Monica, the material lies about his testimony being confirmed by 4 federal judges, how he couldn’t remember being alone with her. Her first applause line came from the statement that no one resigned in protest at these events. (I started it, albeit late). She went on to say that it may be true now, that in order to compete in future elections, it may be necessary to lie with the most sincerity.

Continuing, she spoke of Charles Ruff, who defended the lying to ‘protect the integrity of the office’. She went on to categorize the lies as a sliding scale of lies. She reminded us of the novel ‘1984’, and how the government told lie after lie and forced all to absorb the lie. The hero knew that if he knew 2+2=4, no matter how many times the government said 2+2=5, he would be free as long as he remembered 2+2=4. She spoke of how the government in the novel and in the Clinton government relies on a memory hole, the act of the public forgetting the past events, making it easier to lie in the future about those same events.

Among the lies was that perjury, suborning perjury, obstruction of justice were not impeachable offenses, and how these were patterns of felonies after felonies, tampering with evidence, lying to a grand jury, to the 81 questions written by Henry Hyde.

She then brought up double-speak, how only one side has a litmus test, (Guess who that is?), about ‘tolerance’, Betty Curry hiding gifts, picking them up, hiding them, All because she just wanted to be motherly to Monica, while Linda Tripp was a ‘Mommy Dearest’ mother to Monica. She reminded us how the Starr Report was porno, while Hustler was a news magazine, so if Clinton didn’t have sex, why was the Starr Report porno? Also, How come telling others about Bill CLinton’s acts make you vulgar? Wasn’t it these acts that were vulgar? How is it when Paula Jones sued Clinton, it was Pat Schroeder who speaks of how she wrote that law, Ann reminded us it was the 14th Amendment she sued under, was Patsy Around in the late 1800’s to vote in that amendment? She reminded us that “the only woman who spoke the truth about Bill Clinton was Hillary, who we all know is a liar.”

She spoke of the constant lies of James Carville and how there is a different standard for impeachment for judges and presidents, yet not according to the constitution! For this difference to be left out, the different standard, must have meant that James Madison had an off day! The constitution discusses impeachment exclusively about presidents.

She spoke of the argument about we can’t overturn an election because it was a popular election and therefore it cannot be overturned. She reminded us that is meaningless, it is impeachment that is the issue, not popularity. She mentioned that each felony brought up his approval ratings. How could this happen, since less than 50% of the American people did NOT vote for him, how could greater than 50% ever approve of him? Did any of us know anyone who did NOT vote for Clinton twice that approved of his actions?

She went on to tell of attacking truth, attacking Starr, Linda Tripp, how we cannot have a real trial with no witnesses, therefore no real trial. This shows how most people Approve of lying because they Approve of Clinton!!

She spoke of Paul Johnson’s book, (sorry, forgot the title), And the 10 commandments of society, with #4 something like, “Institutions must be ruled by the rule of law, once the law is humbled, the society will vanish”. Truly A somber warning.

She ended the speech by calling this “The O.J. Presidency!!”

She did take questions, too.

Q1. Concerning Larry Klaman And the deposition of John Huang, will Clinton finish his term?

A1. She was surprised he was elected at all, he is the “Elmer Gantry”, yet he is now invincible.

Q2. It Appears that impeachment was the best thing to happen to Clinton, it is a ‘get out of jail free’ card, China, Juanita never happened. This is disheartening, why did Hyde concentrate on Monica instead of China? The Cox Report is still classified?

A2. This is A ‘zero-infinity’ problem, the odds of something happening are almost zero, but when it happens, watchout!! She called it the “King’s Treason!!” It normally would be hard to pin on the administration, policy is hard to trace to money exchanges. In other Administrations, the connection would be dismissed, with Clinton, treason is possible!!

Now that we are at war, she reminded us how Milosevic is Hitler, but we aren’t sending in troops?? She reminded us how Clinton Supporters told him to cool it, to stop it. She then called Clinton “An Evil Robocop!”

Q3. What did Clinton’s actions do to the constitution?

A3. It repealed the impeachment clause, it showed how he is unfit for office, but he is still there!! And, also, how kinky sex with Monica was not an impeachable offense. She went into small detail of the phone sex while discussing troop movements, And about Yassir Arafat waiting outside.

Q4. Will they dig into the China Money?

A4. I don’t know

Q5. What will be Clinton’s legacy? Will Hollywood make movies about him, TV shows, make him a hero?

A5. “I think his legacy is already established”. History has shown that after time, conservatives always come out better in time, while liberals always come out worse.

Q6. Will you run for office? What Are your goals?

A6. “I haven’t said I will run for office.” She want’s to restore integrity because it is lacking. Republicans passed the largest budget in history, yet Ronald Reagan wanted to eliminate departments.(Note: Chris Shay’s Mom And Brother, Tony sat at the same table with me. Ann did know this, and she did not hold back)

Q7. Is Chris Shays a republican or a democrat?

A7. “Whatever he is, he will be challenged in the primary”(Note: Chris Shay’s Mom And Brother, Tony sat At the same table with me. Ann did know this, And she did not hold back)

Q8. Joe Lieberman, And the fawning press, used big words against Bill Clinton, yet voted against impeachment, and is a pro-Kosovo war person, Is he pro-Communist?

A8. “Joe Lieberman, the conscience of the senate, spoke of how bad Clinton was, then said,’ Now let me get back to my office’!”

Q9. Who does Ann thinks Are the top 3 Republican candidates for President?

A9. “Any Republican can beat Gore”. Despite Gore association with the environmental movement, he is associated with Clinton. She told the joke: :If Bill Clinton and Al Gore went through a car wash in a convertible with the top down, Al Gore would be the only one coming out all wet.

Q10. What about travelgate?

A10. “Creepy”, is this the most ethical administration? Clinton had the right to fire them, but what Are the circumstances? Catharine Cornelius, One of the Jane Does!, was Clinton’s 3rd Cousin! Was it a payoff? Any way you do it, she called it “Sleazy”.

Q11. What about the doublespeak of the woman’s movement?

A11. They have been exposed as nothing more than something akin to ‘The People for the American Way’. After Kathleen Willey story broke, Gloria Stienem wrote an op-ed, allowing for the “one free grope rule”!! Because he stopped after the first one, there was no harassment.

Q12. (my question)..Concerning the KLA And Kosovo. The state department has declared the KLA a terrorist organization, they provide 20-40% of the heroin into the U.S. and they are supported by Osama Bin Laden, why are we arming them?

A12. “Because he wants his legacy. We Are on the losing side in a barroom brawl”.

Q13. Why do the democrats support Clinton? Even Nixon had Republicans who went to the White House And told him to leave?

A13. Christopher Hitchens didn’t support him, And Clinton sold out liberals too. It seems the Democrats have more unity.

Q14. Clinton has twisted the Constitution, turned lies into truth, what is the future of the country?

A14. “I am not wildly optimistic”. “THERE IS NO FRED GOLDMAN”! The court Martial of military men brings almost no remarks, little remarks, it appears that the rest of the world is just ignoring Clinton, the way he does things, is NOT the way things work in the real world so ignore him. She is pessimistic. “Clinton surviving by lying has become the way to win!”

Q15. What about the failure of the Attorney General to investigate thoroughly? It is like having Bonnie And Clyde in the White House and Jessie James as Attorney General?

A15. Why did Ken Starr take the job? He is a poster child for the OIC, the refusal to investigate certain persons, not applicable to the president despite the obvious felonies.

Q16. Congers has a hue and cry for term limits, yet a proposition to repeal the president term limits was introduced??

A16. “Insane. Shameful” The bill by J. Serrano and Christopher Shays to repeal the presidential term limits was way to close to the impeachment ending, it was bad timing. (Note: Chris Shay’s Mom And Brother, Tony sat At the same tale with me. Ann did know this, And she did not hold back)

Q17. Since Ann was a grad of Cornell, did she know that Janet Reno was also a grad of Cornell, And the President of the Women’s Student Government?

A17. “Thanks for pointing that out!” (She was visibly sick)

Q18. 4 Out of 6 congressmen of Connecticut voted against impeachment, Why?

A18. “We mention that every time we map out new sections of the new country”! Olympia Snow , A clone of Bob Packwood, voted to have him removed, yet denied to vote out Clinton. “Smart Kids run the family business, dumb kids go into politics”.(Note: Chris Shay’s Mom And Brother, Tony sat At the same tale with me. Ann did know this, And she did not hold back)

Q19. Since we are in such a morass due to media influence, what should we do?

A19. She went into defending Republicans for their start in 94, but plastered them for turning coward after the government shutdown. She told them to “Behave Courageously!” ”Not to be a coward is to not be a coward!”

Q20. Concerning Campaign finance reform, How can we prevent the Democratic plan to shut off Republican money?

A20. “Do you know who you are represented by?”(Note: Chris Shay’s Mom And Brother, Tony sat At the same table with me. Ann did know this, And she did not hold back) She lamented how campaigning is a 1st Amendment right, how is it that porno is OK? Campaign finance reform is a strangle hold on conservatives, and the New York Times likes it that way.

Q21. Are you a possible contender against Joe Lieberman in 2002?

A21. “I am NOT running against Joe Lieberman!”(Note: Chris Shay’s Mom And Brother, Tony sat at the same table with me. Ann did know this, And she did not hold back) (I just love adding that part..............)

She was an absolute darling, she was polite and friendly. I thought that a woman with the exposure she has had would kind of act stuck up, kind of snotty, being used to the media elites and all? NOT TRUE!! She was the girl next door, wonderful, funny, smart and witty, and she had class, and guts too!

Wonder if I'll be working on her campaign, since I live in Connecticut??

Hmmm.......

And I had her tell me directly, too.

She was not born in 1961.

Trust me, those sources are wrong.

Mystery of the Ages
(Now Ann Coulter has liberals in an uproar over her age) lolrof

Is Human Uzi Ann Coulter 38 or 40 years old?

And when she insists that she's the former, is she telling a fib? The right-wing media scourge – who has been getting plenty of ink for her best-selling book, "Slander: Liberal Lies About the American Right" – frequently scorches hapless reporters who dare write that she's no longer in her thirties.

Newsday's Aileen Jacobson – who was planning to rely on numerous published accounts, including People magazine's, that Coulter is 40 – let her subject argue her into using the younger age in a recent profile. "Media accounts that she's 40 are wrong, she maintains," Jacobson wrote. But yesterday Jacobson told us: "I do believe that she is 40."

London Telegraph writer Toby Harnden, meanwhile, wrote in his July 19 piece: "An air of mystery surrounds Coulter's age. She says she is 38 but her publicist puts her at 40. After the interview, she sends me an e-mail: 'I think you should go with one of the incorrect younger ages.'"
Our own investigation revealed that:

* Coulter's Connecticut driver's license lists her birth as December 1961.
* Her D.C. driver's license, acquired many years later, says she was born in December 1963.
* The birth date on file at the New Canaan, Conn., voter registration office is Dec. 8, 1961.
In an effort to clear up all this confusion, a member of The Post's crack research team phoned the New Canaan registrar of voters, who chuckled, checked his records and reported that Coulter registered to vote in 1980, when presumably she was the legal minimum voting age of 18. That would make her 40 today.

But when we reached Coulter, she predictably stuck to her guns.
"It's like the difference in being thrown off the 13th floor or the roof," she e-mailed us.

"So the upside is, I'm two years younger than at least some newspapers have said I am, but the downside is, I'm still 38. Yikes!"

Here is ANOTHER "favorite" quote from a CLASSIC "Ann" thread:

Ann Coulter Sends ABC's THE VIEW CREW Into a Tizzy

The MRC's Jessica Anderson took down a hunk of the gabfest at the beginning of the June 25 The View, ABC's daytime show created by Barbara Walters, for whom Coulter was filling in...

-- snip --

...During a discussion of a study that claims women are as sexually aroused by pornography featuring two women or a man and a woman:

Behar: "Do you like to watch two women getting it on?"

Coulter: "Uh, no. The last time I did was the Katie Couric interview with Hillary Clinton."

[Audience Ooooooooh's, with some applause and laughing]

Coulter: "Other than that, I have no experience with two women having sex."
