“The specialists work long hours,” said Master Sgt. E. J. Glaude, another of the unit’s assistant specialist section chief. “An eight-hour day is a rarity here. A lot of times the turnover briefings are conducted out on the flightline as Airmen transfer shifts.”

Wow! An eight hour day! So they must get at least a few. Try being a crew dog. A 12 hour day is considered a short day. But I'd rather be a crew dog than anything else.

You beat me to it man! At least on the B-1 the crew chiefs worked longer hours than the "pointy heads", I'm sure on the Buff it's the same. Crew chiefs never do get the glory though, nothing new.

I drive through Shreveport twice a week and it's a kick in the pants when one of these monsters rumbles my car. Last month, one flew over during it's landing approach. It wasn't 300 feet above my car. Now that was cool!

As I understand it, Buff is an acronym for Big Ugly Fat Fellow. Is that right?
