Note to Schumer: Oh, please...just come off it (Wendy Long bashes Schumer on Alito)

Note to Schumer: Oh, please...just come off it [Wendy Long 12/04 03:23 PM]

Note to Senator Chuck Schumer from midtown Manhattan: puh-leese! Cut the posturing. It is just getting so tiresome.

You need to come clean with the American people and tell them the truth: you have never, even for one second, considered supporting the nomination of Judge Alito, just as you never would have voted for Chief Justice Roberts.

Your phony "concerns" about whether Judge Alito can be "objective" are a bunch of nonsense.

You know that Judge Alito has for 15 years been a completely fair, unbiased, objective judge. You know that every single one of his fellow judges on the Third Circuit (including the liberals), all of his law clerks (including the liberals), and all of his former colleagues (including the liberals) — forming a great rainbow of people that includes men, women, minorities, liberals, abortion supporters, registered Democrats, feminists — ALL speak to his complete and unimpeachable integrity and objectivity as a judge.

Your posturing is all about raising money for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, because the big New York and Hollywood money will evaporate unless you oppose Judge Alito, as well as any other Supreme Court nominee who won't roll over for their extreme left agenda: unregulated abortion on demand for all nine months of pregnancy, stripping God from the public square, handcuffing law enforcement so that children can be used as drug mules, etc. We saw them browbeating you during the Roberts confirmation hearings for not being tough enough on him.

So go ahead....campaign for their agenda. Take your big bucks from George Soros. Take your cues from Howard Dean. Pull the Democratic Party into the abyss that already separates mainstream America from the radical Left's agenda.

It would be nice if you would stop abusing the Supreme Court nomination process to press this agenda for your partisans. But if you can't do that, at least be New Yorker enough to come clean with the rest of the country, and tell them there's not a prayer of your supporting Judge Alito.

It is not politics, but war. The RAT party refuses to to do the work of the nation or consider the future of the United States. It is totally about power and opportunism. If the GOP says up, the RATs say down. If the GOP says left, the RATs say right. If the GOP comes back and says right, then the RATs say left before they have a "bipartisan compromise". The problem is Bush and the GOP refuse to acknowledge the outright war being waged against the GOP and America by the RATS.

Bill O'Reilly is correct in that we are in a world war globally against Islamics. However, we are also in a second civil war within our own nation, and the RATs are the only ones doing the fighting.

Bush fails to recognize both wars.

It is just getting so tiresome

Not only tiresome, but a waste of time and energy. In case Schumer hasn't noticed, the population at large doesn't vote on Supreme Court judges... the Senate does. We don't really care what Schumer says or thinks. Just shut up and vote.

I dont quite understand why Alito's confirmation hearings were Postponed until after Christmas.

I mean I understand the Dems wanting it postponed. They are using the time to build a case against Alito and hoping he will make a mistake before the hearings. People like Chucky are desperate to find something to use against the man and this gives them the time.

But what was on the minds of Frist the majority to allow this crap. They were on a roll with roberts gettins pased so easily, the momentum was on their side and they let it go. Why did the Republicans allow this to happen? Just plain stupidity?

I agree entirely with your post. The sooner the 'Pubs realize that Democrats are not just nice guys who see things a bit differently the sooner we will rid the Republic of these traitors. I don't want to hear," My good friend, Ted Kennedy" or "my good friend, Pat Leahy". They are undermining our country and increasing the resolve of our enemies.

One of the problems is that, given majority status in the Senate, the Repubs squandered it by giving RINO Arlen Specter the chairmanship of the Judiciary Committee, instead of a more principled member of their party. I'll bet it's Specter who's more responsible than anyone for delaying the hearings until 2006.

You could be right.

President Bush has nothing to blame but himself for Spectre.

I bet you are correct. Moreover, we've got GWB and Ricky Santorum to thank for saving Arlen from certain defeat in the primary....and allowing him to ascend the throne. If we'd knocked Arlen out...John Kyl, a REAL conservative, would have been the chairman.

Not only was Arlen Sphincter given the Chairmanship, but it was Bush and Senator Santorum who pulled the traitorous of all traitorous schemes by supporting the Marxist radical Arlen Sphincter in the 2004 primary against Pat Toomey.

I urge all PA voters to soundly reject Santorum at the next election, and I urge all conservatives to wake up to reality--it is George Bush's support of Arlen Sphincter that gave Sphincter six more years.

Not only should this Marxist not be Chairman, he should not even be in the Senate. Bush and Santorum are to blame.

Schumer is just a total media whore who is always running his mouth about these issues. The Dems are running scared because they know that Alito is a supremely well qualified nominee who they aren't going to be able to defeat.

Why the delay?

Can you say "Chairman Arlen Specter"?

The laying back stabbing SOB who promised a full and fair hearing within 30 days. The one who made all sorts of promises to become chairman. The one who was supported by Bush and Santorum for reelection over a real conservative and as chairman instead of Jon Kyl -- another real conservative -- taking over.

Specter is doing, but Bush and Santorum are responsible for him being there to do it.

There are a few of us trying to wake people up to the fact that Santorum is not the man that they think him to be. We take a lot of grief, but we aren't giving up.

What amazes me is so many people who don't even want to look at the evidence. They just want to blindly support him.

Careful now.......you are going to be accused of being a troll....an opinion shaper.....all manner of ugly things for pointing out the TRUTH about Tricky Ricky Santorum.

Have you seen the latest travesty? He's going to "guarantee" Socialist Insecurity payments for all those born before 1950? With what, I don't know....but he's singlehandedly taking credit for it. What a jerk. Election year pander to the grey-vote at it's best.

He's (Sanatarium Santorum] going to "guarantee" Socialist Insecurity payments for all those born before 1950?

You can count on his opponent to guarantee that Socialist Insecurity will be given to all those born before 1955.

Santorum will then counter that with a New Orleans style free $2000 debit cards for every PA taxpayer.

His opponent will then say inflation was not factored in and he will promise a $20,000 (RATS don't use the CPI when talking inflation) free debit card to ALL PA citizens, not just taxpayers, and throw in a Humvee and a diamond bracelet.

Don't know where it will end, but you can count on Santorum to spit on conservatives and taxpayers no matter what direction the bidding goes as they both pander for votes among the gimmee-gimmee crowds.

You, Badray, smokeyb and I see it clearly....but he's baffled all the others with his BS.

Rick Santorum is a socialist in sheeps clothing. In a recent townhall.com article, he even said something very close to... "We should embrace the call to increase foreign aid as a percentage of our GDP"....parroting KOFI ANNAN FOR THE LOVE OF PETE!!!

But the masses still see him as a Saint...not evil incarnate. They are blinded by him.

I didn't see that.

Iran is getting nukes, as well as N. Korea getting advanced missiles, we have no robust ABM system, and Santorum wants us to be Santa Claus to the world???

If true, Santorum is not only an idiot for backing Specter, but he is a traitor to the defense of this nation.

Again, I urge all PA residents to soundly reject Santorum. We must find a Republican that has the interests of the USA as the #1 priority.

We are canceling major weapons systems due to "cost" and scaling back others. As the world gets more dangerous and WMDs proliferate even more, Nutcase Santorum wants to devote more of the US GDP to charity to foreign thugs, dictators and black holes?

Our government can't account for how the $21 billion was spent in NY following 9/11/ and there is no accounting of the $1 billion we gave to tsunami terrorist nations, yet Sanitarium Santorum wants us to give more taxpayer sweat money to foreign thugs???

Do you others see why the GOP has abandoned us? It is not just Snowe Job, it is not just McLame, it is not just Hagel, Collins, Sphincter, De-Winer, it is not just . . .

it is even Santorum.

Find yourself another candidate in the GOP for PA but do NOT support Santorum. He has turned his back on the USA and made global charity a priority over the defense of the USA.

Oh geez, "There you go again" letting a little thing like FACTS get in the way of a perfectly good, socialist inspired plan to redistribute our tax dollars.

He is a traitor...and the most dangerous kind....the majority of the GOP still believes him to be one of the most conservative senators...so no one is watching him. We must be eternally vigilant to balance the blindly obedient.
