W just BLEW IT.
That "jobs americans will not do" cr@p is just foolishness.
It isn't the JOB they will not do, it is the pay they refuse to work for while seeing so much profit come from the labor they create going to those that never lifted a finger to create the profits to begin with.

I think he's right on that. It's easier for some people to just collect welfare.

President Bush just said - to take jobs our people will not do ----- do those that won't work still take and be eligible for welfare?

yeah .....I"m kind of pissed.....NOW he gives this speech to keep attention away from all the crap that is happening to the Repubs lately....Bush is late on this....and now only to secure his base....politics at it's best....if he had out interests at heart, this speech would have been given years ago

Maybe he should just give up since he should have done SOOO many things years ago. Should he never address the issue since he hasn't up to this point? Give it a rest.

"He said it.... "JOBS THAT AMERICANS WON'T DO!"

That's B.S.!!!!"

Yep. That's the gimmick to keep lower and middle class wages depressed while seemingly seeming to do something. All other claims are BS if this "out" remains.

Bush is doing Vicente Fox' work. Sounds just like him too.

Problem I have is it sounded like he was trying not to laugh as he detailed the proposals.

What ~you~ said!

I was just burning as he described the "catch and release" charade that ~he~ has done nothing about for all this time.

Unfortunately, I am deeply cynical about anything he now offers on this topic.

Yeh.

He keeps referring to 'the bill I signed last month.'

Illegal Immigration has been a problem since '00, and he is just now getting around to it? He did sneak in the guest worker provision -- even though, per him, it isn't amnesty.

[But allow them another 3 or 6 years to stay, and then ask them to leave? Does anyone on Planet Earth believe that will happen? If so, I have a bridge for sale...]

12,000 border agents to patrol which, 6000 miles of border (north and south)? That's about 2 agents per mile; on shifts, that's 2 agents per 6 miles -- without any days off.

King Jorge can yak all he wants to.

I won't get excited about anything until I see the number of illegals go down in my community.

And if he thinks he can slip in a guest worker program because the problem is just too big to deal with then we need to get a President that is up to the task.

His legacy is going to be the wmd attack set off by islamofascist radicals that dressed up like mexicans and came into our country to do the terrorizing that good Americans just won't do.

Well to be fair, President Bush did just say he would not sign a bill that support amnesty for illegal immigrants.
