A 28-year-old abortion survivor was prohibited from speaking at an Irish college, which claimed the insurance premium was insufficient.
Gianna Jessen survived a saline abortion at the seven-month gestation stage period. As a result, she suffers from cerebral palsy, a disorder that is caused by flawed development of or damage to areas of the brain that control a persons ability to move and stand or sit upright. Jessen considers the disorder a gift. She has traveled the world sharing her story and being living evidence that abortion takes a human life.
Ultrasound, a pro-life student network arranged multiple speaking engagements for Jessen at Irish colleges.
Jessen was greeted at most colleges with a warm welcome, but University College Dublin officials tried to prevent her from sharing her testimony to students. Ultrasound was told that it needed to provide insurance for the event, and on the morning of the speech Ultrasound was told that the insurance did not meet the necessary requirements and that, therefore, Jessen could not speak.
No insurance broker could provide the coverage necessary to facilitate for the event, which UCD considered to be an extreme risk event. This was the first time this sort of insurance was required to have a speaker, leading some to believe that this was an attempt by the college to keep her from speaking.

She's a remarkable young woman. I can only imagine the emotions she must provoke in those who have contracted or perpetrated abortions. She must be a living finger of blame, before she even says a word.
One keeps wishing to say to such folks, "You know, there is a way of dealing with the truth other than denial, delusion, distraction, deceit."
But then again, I find myself wanting to say that here at FR a lot, too.

This is an "extreme risk event"? Exactly how do they explain that?
University College was James Joyce's Alma Mater. He matriculated in 1898.

The insurance trick is regularly used by universities around this nation to stifle free speech.
It is regularly used against conservative speakers who ideas are "too controversial."
Speaking conservatively on a liberal campus would be like yelling fire in a crowded theatre. Its just too dangerous to allow.

What a cutie! (pitter patter pitter patter) God bless her.

There is no doubt in my mind that this college didn't want to let her speak. Sounds like a lot of campuses, where freedom of expression and diversity are celebrated- so long as they rigidly adhere to the orthodoxy of the extreme Left.
Reasoned differences of opinion are not welcome. You will be Leftist, or you will be shouted down. I've experienced this myself.

The Titans of Tolerance and Enlightenment strike again. Free speech for all, except those we disagree with.

Her physical appearance ALone is an answer itself why NO baby should EVER be aborted;
what if parents could actually see how beautiful thier unborn children are in the future and what they bring and can do!
Then, we would scorn our selfish, illegitimate feelings from the mouth of El Diablo himself.

Its just too dangerous to allow. You wouldn't want all those college gals getting a conscience and dropping out of school (i.e., denying the school of monies) because of an inconvenience (i.e., pregnancy), would you?

the event, which UCD considered to be an extreme risk event. Has this campus ever hosted a Muslim or jihad-dhimmi speaker, who told the crowd to go out and "kill Jews"?

Their loss!! She is a dynamic, beautiful, intense speaker/singer.
Her survival bears witness to the infinite value of each and every life.
The wicked can't tolerate the truth!!!!
