Hundreds line up, call for troops' return

CARLSBAD – About 350 demonstrators clad in black lined Carlsbad Boulevard yesterday afternoon to tell the government to bring U.S. troops back from Iraq.

Each demonstrator wore an 8½-by-11-inch sheet of paper on his or her chest with the name of a service member killed in the war.

They stood single-file along the west side of Carlsbad Boulevard with their backs to the ocean. In places along the line they stood shoulder to shoulder. Many waved peace signs to passing motorists, and many drivers honked their horns in response.

A couple of demonstrators held signs that read "Killed in Action: 2,108." Other signs read, "Support our troops. Bring their buddies home."

Jeeni Criscenzo, who organized the demonstration and is a candidate in the 49th Congressional District, which includes Carlsbad, said she was gratified with the turnout.

"I want people to see the human cost of this war," Criscenzo, a Democrat, said from the center of the demonstration, Tamarack Avenue and Carlsbad Boulevard.

She called the protest "Bring Their Buddies Home" and said it was in honor of Camp Pendleton Marines who fight in the war. She said she wanted to offer a way to protest the war while showing respect and gratitude for the fallen.

"It's not just a number. It's somebody's friend, son, daughter," said Criscenzo, of Oceanside.

Demonstrators lined the boulevard from 2 to 4 p.m. for about a half-mile, from the Agua Hedionda Lagoon inlet to Maple Avenue. An earlier news release from the Criscenzo campaign called the protest "a living work of art" and said the line would stretch nearly 2 miles.

Martin Eder of City Heights, a member of Activist San Diego, was one of the protesters. He said the response among people driving by was overwhelmingly positive, and passers-by saluted "using two fingers far more often than one."

Michael Parker of Mission Beach said he does not regularly go to peace demonstrations but attended this one.

"I wanted to honor the people that have gone to war and fallen and I thought (this) was a good way to make a statement about my dissatisfaction with the war and at the same time honor the sacrifices" of those who died, Parker said.

The sign on his chest read "Larry E.D."

Probably 350 ILLEGAL aliens hired by the Left Coast elites to stand in their place.

"When you're done blowing the leaves, could you stand along Carlsbad Boulevard and hold this sign? Gracias, Jose."

"It's not just a number. It's somebody's friend, son, daughter," said Criscenzo, of Oceanside.

You, Criscenzo, have you checked with the friends and parents of those killed to ask them if THEY think we should bring the troops home right now? If not, why not? Because you don't want to know the truth that most of them still support keeping the troops there to finish the job. They would feel you are dishonoring their loved ones and are hurting those still there.

If this was on a weekday, why weren't they at their jobs? It was probably a bus load of union workers brought in by one of Donna Fry's (San Diego) cronies....they make me sick this is no way to support our troops. bet they all had tie dye T shirts, pony tails and a beard and had a doobie in between their lips....song of the day was Kumbyya.

In other news, 350,000 demanding that the troops remain in Iraq went about their daily lives elsewhere in Carlsbad.

I wonder if the Dinosaur Media treated this pathetic grandstanding by the delude Left Wing equivalent of the KKK as the complete none story it is, how many of these protests would even happen? The ONLY reason these protests are held is because they know their comrades in the Dinosaur Media will make more of them then is warranted. As with any other temper tantrum, they self absorbed losers should be treated with the contempt they earn. 350 protesters? That is NOT a news story. Time for the Dinosaur Media to quit being the Anti-American's PR whore.

"I want people to see the human cost of this war," Criscenzo, a Democrat, said from the center of the demonstration, Tamarack Avenue and Carlsbad Boulevard.

Typical liberal thinking. They believe we are so stupid, we don't understand that people die in a war, even though we are bombarded with the negative side of this conflict 24/7 in liberal media. What about the human benefits of this war? Women can walk around town without fear of rape from "authorities". Schools now have children in them instead of arms and bombs. People can speak without fear of beheading. A free country is much less likely to embrace terrorism. We understand that good men die in war, you liberal twit! YOU don't understand the importance of the cause.

350 people?

They had over a hundred thousand at just one mall in our area yesterday buying Christmas stuff. That'll be repeated today across America....all voluntary.

Countless churches wil have that many and more in attendance at one or more worship services tomorrow.....all voluntary.

Maybe if we got signs the MSM would cover us.

"Americans for Christmas Shopping!"

"Christians for Weekly Worship!"

Hey, Hey,
Ho, Ho,
Christmas Season
Is a Go!

Ho, Ho, Ho.....Merry Christmas
