Source: Cheney Isn't Woodward's Source
AP ^ | 17 November 05 | JOHN SOLOMON, Associated Press Writer

Posted on 11/17/2005 7:14:09 PM PST by Doofer

Vice President Dick Cheney is not the unidentified source who told Washington Post reporter Bob Woodward about the CIA status of the wife of Bush administration critic Joseph Wilson, a person familiar with the investigation said Thursday.

Woodward did not talk with the vice president that day, did not provide the information that's been reported in Woodward's notes and has not had any conversations over the past several weeks about any release for allowing Woodward to testify, said the person, speaking on condition of anonymity.

Woodward gave a sworn deposition in the CIA leak investigation on Monday, testifying that a senior administration official told him in mid-June 2003 that Plame worked as a CIA analyst on weapons of mass destruction.

Plame's identity was revealed in July 2003 by columnist Robert Novak, eight days after her husband, a former U.S. ambassador, accused the Bush administration of twisting prewar intelligence to exaggerate the Iraqi threat.

The Woodward revelations renewed attention to an investigation into who was responsible for leaking Plame's name, an inquiry that had appeared to be winding down after last month's indictment of Cheney's chief of staff, I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby.

Get ready to be the Queen of England then, np, because we all know Bush knew and is hiding something. He's been hiding something since the "conservative" Supreme Court annointed him U.S. President in 2000.

Fitgerald will uncover the truth and satisfy Chris Matthew's insinuations of high treason.

:-)

When is the last time the Wash Post equated Secy of State with Top Bush Admin officials? They alsways make the distiction between State Dept. and Administration.

Administration includes all appointive positions whether they are in the White House or in the various cabinet departments. Secretary of State is not a White House Official but they are an administration official. CIA Director is an administration official but not White House. Carl Rove is both.

I could be wrong. I just got off the phone with someone who sweares it is Karen Hughes. But Condi was in the know and would had legitmate access to such info.

Karen Hughes and Condi Rice are both current administration officals. Both are in the administration now.

She was not an operative so there was nothing to out. Half of DC and all of the press knew who they were

Your sources for this? By the way you can not take Andrea Mitchell's boast and generalize from that to all press knew. As far as half of DC, I bet half of DC dont know who the SEcretary of State is? They definitely dont know who the Secretary of Education or Energy are.

Yes, I know that that's what the lefties always says, so I was surprised to see it, without the requisite /sarcasm.

Yes, I know, which is why my answer was : "HUNH?"

As you know, I am a literal reader; I take posts at face value, unless otherwise informed otherwise. :-)

Of course it wasn't Cheney. It was that evil Karl Rove. Yeah yeah, that's the ticket. It was Rove and he told me this in his underground bunker, deep in Texas. The one guarded by the black helicopters.

He told me this while he was using his weather machine to create a tsunami that will kill helpless black babies in New Orleans. Yeah yeah...

It is NOT Cheney, it is NOT President Bush, it is NOT Rove, and it is NOT Libby! This is what Bob Woodward has PUBLICLY said. He also said that that person is NO LONGER working in the government.

Joe Wilson? Presumably Valerie taught him about false-flag ops.

I don't think it matters anyway because this Plame female told her neighbors she worked for CIA, she drove there every day. It had been longer than five years since she was undercover and remember no one is accused of outing a CIA agent Fitzgerald was clear on that. It is a coverup indictment. If the person who leaked didn't testify that he was not the leaker then Fitzgerald has no case. This is just a total waste of twenty million. Republicans should stop caving to Dems and allowing this crap.
