"The appointment of Judge Alito largely fails to diversify the court," Harry, this is where we want diversity. We want various tpes of beauty from all over the planet.
Now Harry, this is where diversity does not make sense. We want one thing--brilliant legal minds who enforce the Constitution.

Putting a fine CONSERVATIVE legal mind on the Court -- IS a diversification from the leftist activist judges Reid would support...
Someone needs to tell Reid -- that this IS diversity.....the RIGHT kind...
Otherwise, Reid should simply STFU.

Thanks. I was a kid at the time and thought I remembered him being active then.

"A picture of Sam Alito is emerging that may explain why the extreme right-wing is popping champagne corks," Reid, D-Nev., said ... Abortion rights activists are concerned that Alito and recently confirmed Chief Justice John Roberts would move the Supreme Court to the right and perhaps overturn the landmark 1973 Roe v. Wade decision that established abortion rights.
Well that is the plan Senator. Glad you are paying attention.

"Senator" Reid fails to diversify the senate. Send him packing. Back to Nevada with you, Harry, you undiverse person, you.
Most excellent observation.

Yes, the type of diversity on display in that first picture is the type we can all appreciate.

I wish to heartily endorse the diversity in the first picture. America truly needs much more of this.

Reid keeps saying President Bush missed an opportunity to nominate a Hispanic to the court and that this group has so far been denied a seat on the Court. First of all, a court, and the Supreme Court above all, is a place for the brightest legal minds to interpret law according to the written word, not a place for people of diverse skin tones to assemble and represent entire populations and their political interests.
That being said, Bill Clinton had two opportunities and chose to nominate two Jews. There was no demand by the Democrats for ethnic diversity on the Court then. Their ethnic designation was not an issue at the time, nor should have it been. But as expected, the Democrats keep moving the goal posts.

Bush tries to appoint a justice with diversity, in his pick with Miers, and look what happened to that.
In the end, he went with the "best" pick out there.
Alito is in... get used to it.
To: yankeedoodledandy
Yes. Unqualifieds and People of Mediocrity were underrepresented on the Court. Bush tried to remedy that with the selection of Miers.
