A Times Square movie theater laid an egg at a showing of "Chicken Little" last night.
Adults and kids expecting to watch Disney's G-rated animated flick at the AMC Empire 25 theater on 42nd St. were instead presented with a foreign film that opened with a young man committing suicide.
"It's pandemonium," Joshua Gallo, 30, told the Daily News as he rushed out of the theater with his 5-year-old son and 1-year-old daughter. "The kids are crying. The mothers are screaming for the managers to stop the film."
Terrified children didn't know what to do as they watched a young boy hang himself from a tree at the 8:45 p.m. screening.
After five minutes, "Andrea," a Spanish drama opening today, was turned off and "Chicken Little" was played.
Patrons got a coupon for a free movie.

Don't worry, somebody will sue for the trauma their children suffered, and for the lifetime of psychiatry they are going to need.

I was thinking the same thing, but then berated myself. Guess I shouldn't be so eager to take the tinfoil hat off!
At least I HOPE it was an honest mistake.

"Chicken Little" is an animated film. No one noticed that what they were watching wasn't animated?
Or perhaps these sophisticates assumed that the depressing live-action start somehow was a lead-in to the cartoon? And were too stupid to leave before the hanging scene? Dumb!
To: Nachum
On the Shermometer this film rates an absolute zero! BRRR!

"Chicken Little" is an animated film. No one noticed that what they were watching wasn't animated? Been to the movies lately? They show so many "previews of coming attactions" that it can be hard to tell when the actual movie starts.

I would assume they thought it was a movie preview.

Meanwhile, across town, in a Soho porn theater, patrons expecting a double shot of perversion were confronted with a Disney classic, "Sleeping Beauty".
Patrons were shocked and demanded the film be turned off.......a man with unkempt hair and bloodshot eyes angrily said: "If I wanted to see that crap, I'd check myself into Bellvue."

Yup, at least 15-20 minutes of "previews."

You would think they would at least announce "And now for our feature presentation" before the start of the movie like they do on DVDs.
