Now if the Deutschlanders and Poles were smart they'd settle their disputes in the bedroom, and study English by day.

Your utter lack of knowledge on this topic is disturbing... first and foremost, the Polish are a Slavic people, whilst the Germans are of course Germanic. That's an immediate difference of culture, religion, heritage, and language, practically everything that could be different about them is different. It's like saying the Swedes and French are "two very similar peoples".

On the second point, it's not a "stupid dispute" to anyone with a elementary grasp of Eastern European history. The Polish as a nation have suffered more than any other nation in history at the hands of their neighboring states, with WWII just being the latest atrocity in a history spanning hundreds of years. The only reason Poland came into possession of the German lands at the end of WWII was because the USSR refused to renegotiate the border they had set with Nazi Germany when they split Poland between them in '39. In order for a free Poland to actually exist as a viable state, which incidentally was one of the major reasons the allies fought the war against Nazi Germany, they were ceded the eastern provinces of Germany. The expulsion of Germans from this land wasn't a Polish undertaking, but rather a joint Allies undertaking. The "ethnic cleansing" you speak of occurred for a few reasons.
1) The Nazis slaughtered 3 million Polish Jews in the concentration camps that they built on Polish land specifically for this purpose.
2) Overall, Poland lost 6 million citizens, or approximately 18% of its population, making it the state the suffered the most deaths as a result of WWII.
3) At the end of the war, the USSR refused to cede the eastern provinces of Poland that it had negotiated with the Nazis for. These provinces contained a large majority of the Polish minorities, most noticeably large populations of Ukrainians.
4) The Allies expulsion of the Germans from Poland proper and the newly claimed Polish lands removed another large minority that had existed in Polish lands back to the times of the Prussian tyranny.

None of these, of course, were the direct actions of the Poles themselves. If you want to learn anything about the history of Eastern Europe, and Poland in particular, I recommend Norman Davies, "Heart of Europe". I hope my answer has perhaps challenged your narrow views on this topic.

Our country has 60,000,000 people of German descent. German was considered at one time for being our country's language.
Also, English is a German dialect, or so the linguists say.

German haters indulge in a basketfull of hating their own. Sad to blame an entire race of people BACKWARDS and FORWARDS for 13 years of a 2500 year history.

Italy, Japan and the USSR (for 2 years) marched LOCKSTEP with the Nazis. The Japanese invaded and occupied China six years before Hitler's armies marched anywhere. THOSE 13 years cost the Chinese 34 million lives, concentration camps, death camps, experiments, torture, everything that Hitler, Mussolini and Stalin did, but on a larger scale, ALL BY THEMSELVES.
We give the Japanese a pass on THAT heinous 13 year history of theirs......but not the Germans.

Now, a personal answer ~ you assume in error that I know nothing of the history of Central and Eastern Europe. On the other hand, there is no reason whatsoever for any American to "side" with any particular group in that region.

After all, it's been a rather rough neighborhood for a long time ~ until American and Russian occupation that is!

The Germans in America ARE NOT so prone, nor are those in Switzerland, nor in Austria, nor in Hungary, and that's pretty much the majority of the people of German descent in the world.

Yes, you are a racist. You hate an entire group of people for what happened in 13 years of their country's history. Germany has only been a united country since 1870 or so. So they can't even be blamed as a nation.
