Canada Border Services Agency seizes weapons at Quebec border crossing
ST-BERNARD-DE-LACOLLE, Que. (CP) - Almost 400 weapons and fake guns have been seized by the Canada Border Services Agency.
The shipment from New Jersey includes knives and clubs and was recently seized at St-Bernard-de-Lacolle in Quebec, near the U.S. border. No arrests have been made so far but the investigation is continuing. However, the seizure resulted in Canadian border agents searching two Montreal flea markets and a business where other weapons were discovered.
Agency spokeswoman Nicole Barsalou says about 6,000 weapons other than firearms were seized by the agency in 2004, almost three times as many as in 2002.
But she says the number of firearms seized at the border hasn't increased significantly.
"6,000 weapons other than firearms"?
Lotsa French in Quebec.
Let me see anybody with a axe,saw or knife can make a club out of a small tree in minutes. Lots of trees on Canada.
Let me see any body with some steel and a grinder can make a knife half way useful knife in hr or so.
Let me see any body with some glass and tape can make a edged weapon in minutes.
Whats wrong with this whole picture.

OMG !! I found a club in the front yard, I must call the police !! Never mind, my 10 year old says its a tree limb.
Whew, Oh, wait, I think there is a knife in the kitchen...
OMG !! I must call the police...........(panic attack) LOTS OF KNIVES......
For all we know it was two rusty knives with blades a millimeter "too long", or just too easily opened, and almost 398 super-soakers, plastic .45 Cowboy Guns and maybe one or two paint ball guns.
