Syndicated columnist and commentator Tony Snow "loves the Samuel Alito pick as the next U.S. Supreme Court nominee. He loves it for several reasons, including judicial philosophy, but also because it lights a fire under many politicians.
Snow said during his self-titled radio program Monday that he loves the Alito pick as much as he hated the Harriet Miers nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court.
"Bush screwed up with the Miers nomination, Snow said. "A Supreme Court nomination is not for the faint of heart its not an honor for nice people who bake a nice pie. By selecting Alito, the president shows that he has learned that this is not a time to run from a fight. Its time to challenge everyone and their principles.
"Prepare for an ugly fight in the Senate Judiciary Committee, Snow predicted. "Lets welcome that fight.

Calling an Italian American a facist? Sounds like an ethnic slur to me.
Well, first the DNC puts out their little slime memo, claiming that Alito is somehow soft on the mob because he "failed to win" a case, and now they're trotting out "fascist," too?
How many anti-Italian stereotypes will the DNC be willing to put out there, before large swathes of NY and NJ rise up and kick the crap out of their own Dim senators?

You just never know about those papists /sarcasm.
"We need to let the New Jerseyites know about this as they have a gubernatorial election next Tuesday."
What might be the best means of accomplishing this? Is there a NJ ping list?
Alito certainly doesn't seem to be a fascist ~
You mean Alito is Spanish?
fascists always want to take power away from the government...
Yes, that Hitler guy was big on small government, personal liberty stuff. (/Sarcasm)
I'm sure they will call him fascist, and probably much worse. But a lot has changed since they got away with doing this to Bork, and they won't be successful this time.
Hmmm, that doesn't sound like something liberals would say. Liberals are an even-handed, levelheaded lot, not prone to wild-eyed character assassination.
Tony must be mistaken.
Does anyone remember that in 1992, then-Senator Alfonse D'Amato was called a fascist by his 'Rat opponent, then-AG Bob Abrams? It blew up in his face in liberal NY. I expect it will do so again this time.
