Gonzales is probably more likely. Be careful what you wish for.

Luttig would be a good choice. I'll bet, though, that we ultimately get someone who's no more conservative than Miers, and perhaps less so. The liberals are going to throw everything they've got at whoever the next nominee is, and the media is going to paint a picture of an ultra right-winger.

Luttig!!!! Yeehaw! Or Brown!!! That would shut up all the elitist and sexist talk.

Luttig - I'm with you, Dave!

If you think a more Conservative nominee will be put forward, you are in for a surprise Pyrrhic victory indeed.
To: conservaDave
Hip-hip Hooray!!!
Okay, so what are the chances he'll appoint Alberto Gonzales?

I heard that several people who "should" have been nominated decided against it. Which is why we had Miers to begin in the first place.
Luttig might be one of the "Thanks, but NO thanks!" people.

Luttig!!!! Yeehaw!Exactly my reaction. The MSM is reporting it as a victory for the "radical right". Absolutely correct. Wooohooo!

Luttig referred to abortion rights as "super-stare decisis" in
Gilmore in 2000.
