And now all the Miers haters are gearing up to do the same to the next person the President nominates.

And now all the Miers haters are gearing up to do the same to the next person the President nominates. Not if he nominates someone worthwhile.

The same crowd will be yelling for the next crucifixion if a strong Evangelical is nominated.

Nothing short of Janice Rogers Brown will be acceptable to some around here.

And now all the Miers haters are gearing up to do the same to the next person the President nominates. And all those who don't hate anyone but who honestly felt she was not either qualified nor a true conservative are praying that Bush will now nominate a truly qualified conservative constructionist with a substantial track record supporting that assessment.

Now the President will appease the malcontents by nominating someone from their approved list. It's a short list.
While they've spent four weeks bitching about Miers, their enemies and opponents have been quietly building background on the people from the short list.
NOW it will get nasty, and the center voters will become more disenfranchised, if that's possible.
Good GOP plan.

Not if that person is an originalist, the kind of jurist President Bush promised the people he would nominate.

And now all the Miers haters are gearing up to do the same to the next person the President nominates. Not if the person is an actual conservative that will uphold the Constitution. People are tired of being blindsided and are ready for real men to stand up and fight for what is right.

Not if he gives us a decent nominee this time.
Do you think that Justice Brown would have been dissed by Conservatives? No, it's the RINOs who have been Miers biggest supporters who would have gone after Brown.

Not true with respect to conservatives who opposed her nomination. We love this president, and it was painful to have to oppose him on this issue. If he nominates a qualified, conservative individual (i.e., not Gonzoles), you will see an unprecedented outpouring of zeal and support by those who wish to (a) fix the Court, (b) thank the president for doing the right thing, (c) make amends, and (d) stick it to the Left.

You sound like a Liberal.
If one is opposed to another, it must be because they "hate" them.
Pathetic.

If it's another Souter clone (or Gonzales), bank on it! Otherwise, you're delusional. Blackbird.

Your thought is ludicrous. We would love nothing better than to support the President, and I don't have to prove this to you or any other folks who follow Bush like some kind of prophet.
All of the evidence points to the fact that she is no conservative. Andy Card who helped us get Souter during the Bush 41 Presidency also helped with this one. Warms your cockles I imagine. Just think, another Souter or Kennedy would have been wonderful news for our cause.
END SARCASM!!

And now all the Miers haters are gearing up to do the same to the next person the President nominates. One has to assume by the tone of your post you were a Miers supporter. There may be some opposition to the next candidate, even Roberts had his share ... but it's unlikely to be anywhere near the opposition the Miers nomination brought about ... which frankly had more to do with Bush's boneheaded choice of her, rather than Miers herself.

I didn't HATE Miers.... I didn't know the lady from squat a month ago.
I thought it was a pick made from fear and I still think that. Someone in the White House thought she would be the easy out....its that old "new tone" crap again.
Next pick should not come from a list Harry Reid puts up..
Damn the torpedoes....go for it!
