Done, not familiar with all the trails in foggy bottom, but is sounds as though more than a few went down the wrong ones.

Agree, this is very confusing. But if we all keep reading we can begin to see how big this must be. Is it too much to hope that Clinton will some day get what he deserves?

"An intelligence agency, full of cronies who all botched their respective roles during the decades preceding and years after September 11th, thought they could handily weather the Able Danger storm. When it became clear that the ship was about to capsize, they all couldn't move fast enough for the life rafts. Not like they would have much to worry about given the tendency to not punish intelligence officers for negligence, but then the DIA isn't the CIA, and military officers (like Jacoby) have the UCMJ to worry about."

Whoa, for a moment there I wasn't sure whether he was talking about the CIA or the DIA..... This is HUGE! This is 'insider' confirmation (anonymous, but hope it will be followed up well) that the "Able Danger" and "Valerie Plame" stories really are parallel tracks about gross complacency, sloth, ineptitude, and then open subversion of the elected WH administration at both DIA and CIA. Both agencies botched huge opportunities before (and probably after) 9/11, and both seem to have turned to a variety of stonewalling and disinformation to prevent the public from learning the true stories about Able Danger and also the Iraq WMD stories. Both agencies have a variety of insiders who have been vigorously working to undermine the Bush WH.

I continue to be very disturbed at how bankrupt all our Intel both civilian and military appear to have become. Perhaps it has always been this way, and many have not be privy as now is possible via. the Internet to start seeing how snafu they all are. From the article:

"An intelligence agency, full of cronies who all botched their respective roles during the decades preceding and years after September 11th, thought they could handily weather the Able Danger storm. When it became clear that the ship was about to capsize, they all couldn't move fast enough for the life rafts. Not like they would have much to worry about given the tendency to not punish intelligence officers for negligence, but then the DIA isn't the CIA, and military officers (like Jacoby) have the UCMJ to worry about."

Things are probaby a lot worse then many of us have suspected. And with such a half assed congress who seldom take their jobs seriously, heaven knows how much is going to yet again, go down the tubes. Perhaps the only silver lining is if we have reached the threshold in time where "cleanup" can actually mean something.
