When they lifted the inverted container, the noodles were found sitting proud on the cone of sediment left behind.
"It was this unique combination of factors that created a vacuum or empty space between the top of the sediment cone and the bottom of this bowl that allowed the noodles to be preserved," Professor Kam-biu Liu said.

I always thought they’d last a few thousand years.

Goes down pretty easy with a can of Natural Light or da Beast. Makes the beer taste better too

Wow you guys were rich. We could only afford Carling or that generic "beer" from Kroger. $1.65 a six baby, pony up, dig in the couch!

I think these were older:

(Seriously, I found these on the shelf at a local Chinese grocery recently, and it was so goofy I had to take a photo.)

["Our data demonstrate that noodles were probably initially made from species of domesticated grasses native to China]

ewwwwwwwww

That's not as bad as it sounds. Wheat, rice, and the other grains are part of the grass family too, and are technically "domesticated grasses" also. And that's what we make noodles from even today.

Talk about extra crispy!

On second thought, I think they are Yao Ming's old sneaker laces after a basketball double-header.

Well by the time Marco Polo was doing his travels, I think there was an Italy, but it was comprised of a group of city/states.

We see more "archeology" from China every day that is intended to boost the stature of the Chinese culture. It is about as credible as Hitler's master race BS. Wheat flour originated as early as 5000 BC in Mesopotamia which would have enabled the production of noodles by a very simple drying process. I have personally seen 4th century BC Etruscan art depicting people making noodles.

I've had those! LOL!

They are like corn nuts except made with beans. I wouldn't run right out and buy them again but they were passable.
