Amen, Judge Bork.

Now, watch for the stampede of the Bushbots, screaming how DARE you criticise W, for rewarding a loyal buddy with a SCOTUS seat!

I admire Bork and my first reaction to Harriet was "WTF?". Im starting to think that was W's intention all along. While the MSM is lapping up the anger on the right they arent giving much press to the usual suspects on the left. She'll be confirmed without too much fuss and the SCOTUS will have a "Born Again" justice. I can live with that.

"Bushbots."

That's rather cute. But the idiot "Bushbots" somehow knew that Roberts was a good candidate, didn't they? And the little bots knew that nominating someone without a paper trail was a good idea, too. And you know what? The Bushbots nailed it and the nomination.

But now the little bots have it all wrong, huh?

Bushbot my arse. When faced with a choice between two people, one who believes the RTKABA is an individual right and one who believes that it isn't there is only one choice, support the individual right person.

And Borks not it. Now knowing how you feel about the RTKABA I can only assume that you are a Borkbot because you sure the hell would oppose anybody else with the view that the second amendment is simply an "anachronism".

Bushbot? I think not. I think though that Bork is pissed because he was, how shall I say it, Borked? Harriet Miers believes in the 2nd amendment, the individual right to keep and bear arms. This is all I need to know. I do NOT agree with everything Bush does, but I did vote for him and on this appointment I agree with him.

Now, if you want to talk immigration then I have some serious disagreements with him, but on this, I agree with the appointment of Harriet Miers, long may she serve.

I've posted the information following this paragraph in two (2) other threads. I believe, however, it is also relevant to this thread.

In 1990, President George Herbert Walker Bush chose David Souter, an Associate Justice of the New Hampshire Supereme Court Judge over Judge Edith H. Jones of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Souter was labeled a stealth justice by the press. Jones had already well established her conservative credentials.

As a United States Supreme Court justice, Souter has been a liberal. Is there a single occasion in which he voted with Justices Rehnquist, Scalia and Thomas in a single 5-4 vote? Meanwhile, Judge Edith H. Jones has continued to compile an outstanding conservative record.

Is there not a single conservative judge with a track record that President Bush could have picked over Harriet Miers? If being a woman was a requirement to be selected, was there not a single conservative female judge with a track record that President Bush could have picked over Harriet Miers? What was wrong with choosing a female judge with an outstanding conservative track record such as Edith H. Jones?

That seems to be their only reply.

Personally, I have to admit, this pick is seems to be a disaster. This does not mean Miers is a Souter.

It is a disaster because what it has done to the base, especially considering mid-term elections in '06. Not to foresee that picking a little known candidate recommended by Democrats would have this result is amazing.

However, Bush does know her better than the rest of us. Perhaps this is rope-a-dope, i.e. "hey look Karl, they have Harriet on their list Ha Ha Ha", and she will turn out to be a Scalia. If this is the case, lets hope it is apparent before Nov. 2006. There are a lot of elected conservatives, more conservative than Bush, whose fate hangs on this pick being right.

As for Bork, Kristol et al, they have been in the game a long time and are tired of being Soutered. They may not being "loyal" members of the Bush camp, but they are loyal members of the conservative moment. That does not make them RINOs.
