Victory Over Fat?

Congressman DeLay, according to a recent article in the Washington Times, “said … that Republicans have done so well in cutting spending that he declared an "ongoing victory," and said there is simply no fat left to cut in the federal budget.”

Would that this were true. In reality, the Republicans during President Bush’s administration have taken government spending to unprecedented new heights, far beyond the most extravagant fancies of Bill Clinton and his big-spending Democratic cronies.
