If your kids or wife is dying..along with half a million other Americans in the next pandemic I am "just wondering" what your thoughts will be then.

"along with half a million other Americans in the next pandemic"...
Thats just the kind of exaggeration the proponents of such a policy want to see.
Not that many died when bird flu was an untreatable mystery.

If your wife and kids are safe at home in a town that is not yet infected, but that the government deems needs to be "quarantined" just to prevent political backlash (can anyone say 500 mile radius?), and you come home from work to get them out before they are actually infected and hit a military road block that fires on you, I am "just wondering" how you'll feel then.

Thirty souls does not a half million make.
I'd risk double that to preserve Americans' right to freely move in the USA without military intervention.

Are your wife and kids more important than the liberty from martial law rule (under which Habeas Corpus can be suspended) of 280 millions Americans?

Any kind of pandemic that would kill half a million Americans is going to hit the military pretty hard as well, don't kid yourself.
My feelings are, I wouldn't feel comfortable with a Democrat President having the kind of power that the Posse Comitatus Act forbids, and so I shouldn't feel comfortable with a Republican President having that power either.

Why should the deaths of one, or a million people, dismiss the guarantees and limitations on the national government found within the Constitution? I would be against it then as now. And yes I fully understand even if that meant the death of my parents or other loved ones.
Republicans have used excuses for 150 years to garner more power for the national government. This excuse is no different

More people have probably died in the US today just getting out of the shower.

If it gets that bad, why stop with a measly quarantine? Why not go all out and firebomb all affected areas? I mean, you're either with us or you're with the virus. We need to fight the virus in those affected areas so we don't have to fight it here.
