I think Bayh could be a real problem for us in '08.

Let's see: Bayh voted for Roberts before he voted against him!

I use to be scared of Bayh. IMO he represented a level headed, ethical and all around good guy Democrat.

Boy was I wrong! I figured it out during the Condi Rice confirmation hearings.

He went to the dark side very publicly. At least he did it early enough not to sucker more people into his make believe image.

Bad move on his part. Many people would have voted for him as the good guy from Indiana. Not many will give him the time of day as the liberal elitist puppet of Kennedy.

Because the Pubbies ran a black unknown against him last time, and the RNC forgot there was a Senate race here.

Virtually no money to get his name out.
Marvin Scott

Bayh really isn't that bad of a guy. His problem right now is that he's a moderate who recognizes he has to get some support from the fringe. Hence, his conduct during the Rice confirmation. You'll see him sending all sorts of contradictory signals while he tries to maintain his status as a moderate while throwing bones to the left.

The problem is that the activist wing of his party won't be satisfied with just bones. They'll just eat him alive unless he completely sells out to them

I wished I hadn't voted for him when he voted against Klintoon impeachment. That's when I decided I would never vote for a rat ever again.

Same way Wisconsin votes for Kohl and Feingold and Illinois votes for Turbin. A big city and lots of stupid Oprah watchers.

The impeachment, and Bayh's first vote (to acquit) spurred me to drag out my daughters Smith-Corona and hammer out my first letter to a politician.

The formatting (and the language) undoubtedly got it tossed when it burnt their fingers.

But I still voted for Scott.

Forgive me for what is prolly a stupid observation, but...

didn't Bayh sit at the table before the Judiciary Committee hearing and "introduce" Roberts to them on the first day of hearings???

I live in Georgia and never once voted for Zell Miller. I didn't cast a vote for him as Lt. Gov, Gov or Senator.

In my defense, Zell has changed since his days in State Government. However, I regret not voting for him in his last Senate race. I never vote for Democrats but sometimes it might be wise to be a bit more open to all candidates.

I value Zell over a McCain or Hagel.

That's why I think Bayh screwed up. He would get more crossover votes if he were just an old time Democrat and not a Moonbat.

Yes, Bayh did introdce Roberts as a "favorite son" nominee and then stabbed him in the back by not voting for him

Bayh would not get any crossover votes if he cannot win the primary.
