09/23/2005 China Preparing For War And Few Notice

by By Chuck Baldwin Constitution Party 2004 Vice-Presidential Candidate

Ever since President Richard Nixon entered into détente with the communist regime in China, America has doggedly assisted in the commercial and military buildup of the Marxist nation. Both Republican and Democratic administrations have mollycoddled the Red Chinese to the point that now they have grown big enough to cause serious concern.

Both Bill Clinton and G.W. Bush have facilitated the transfers of billions of dollars of commercial assistance to Red China, not to mention vast amounts of technology which China has used to further its military machine. Each president refuses to identify China as an adversary, choosing rather to call it a "trading partner." However, China has not been hesitant to use this assistance to construct a formidable military apparatus. At the same time, the U.S. seems determined to reduce our military, especially our navy, to dangerously low levels.

For example, since Ronald Reagan left office, the United States has reduced its navy from a fleet of 600 ships and submarines to 288 and shrinking. To give the reader an idea of just how small our navy has become, our current navy fleet is equal in size to that when William Howard Taft was in office!

Beyond that, our carrier fleet is on its way to the elephant graveyard. Three of the five in service were built before 1975. Consider, too, that the number of fighter aircraft has dropped to fewer than 3,500 and is expected to fall to under 2,000. However, while the United States continues to mothball its military, Communist China is (with America's help) building its military like there is no tomorrow.

Do you think maybe we should stop sending them so much money and giving them so much help with these efforts?

At this point about all you can do is determine where it will be safer, and move there. Our leaders are as blind as any nation's leaders in history, just before their respective nations fell.

No amount of reasoning will get through. Our leaders know it all. Our slide into oblivion is pre-ordained.

Peace through strength, will now become war through lack of it.

China's goals are set. Our resolve is non-existant.

Those that advocated doing what we've done with China should swing at the end of a rope.

Laugh now, pay later...

I think maybe we should stop reading the nutty rantings of Chuck Baldwin.

China is trying to build an economy based on capitalism but without the freedoms. When China starts to implode...then there may be war.

If they attack, they can pretty much write off the hundreds of billions of dollars in US treasuries they hold.

Back in the early 90's (IIRC), the SciFi channel used to splash playful 'messages from the future' during station ID.

The one that still rings true was:

"Message from the future: Learn to speak Chinese."

China is a communist country that is merely cashing in on America's capitalism while we finance their military machine.

They will totally destroy our economy by cashing in those treasuries just before they attack.

Yes the author is very uninformed about how many carriers we have. Check this link out.

Chuck baldwin might just be misinformed.

The one place where Baldwin is misinformed in his article is the value of our stake in Iraq. Being able to control middle east oil supply is one of our big advantages.

Beyond that, our carrier fleet is on its way to the elephant graveyard. Three of the five in service were built before 1975.

Last time I counted there were 12 carriers (Enterprise, Kitty Hawk, JFK, Nimitz, John Stennis, Eisenhower, Teddy Roosevelt, Harry S Truman, Ronald Reagan, Carl Vinson, George Washington, Aberaham Lincoln.)

Enterprise was launched 45 years ago yesterday and is far more capable now than in 1960. Carriers built since the 1980s are projected to be in service for 50 - 80 years.

This guy is on crack.

The American people have been lulled into a slumber. The advesary has been within our midst for generations. He waves and American flag.

The simple answer is no politician will go against the business lobby. Rush continually asks "why do we not stand up to China?" There is not a politician who will go against the business slave labor apparatus. Those shoes still cost the same.

The country was sold out with Nafta and Gatt. Believed it back when it was proposed, believe it now...
