SHE TAKES HER CHEVY TO THE LEVY
A fellow Freeper with the handle, Doug From Upland, has stumbled upon Arianna Huffington being driven to a green car event in a BIG, HONKING, CHEVY SUBURBAN.
Apparently, Michelle Malkin has picked this up. But obviously the final word has yet to be written, Mr Global Content. Or as we conservatives say about you, think and act globally.

MARK REPLIES: Of course. One of the principal characteristics of the elite left Arianna, Barbra Streisand, John Kerry - is that they need the private jets and big gas-guzzlers but you can get by fine riding the bus.

Nailing Liberal Hypocrisy makes them think twice before they speak out again.
A Chilling Effect on free speech?
Hmmmmm, Arianna, maybe you'd better put some ICE on that.

That's right. All you little people can just ride the bus, ride a bike, or walk. The important people will travel in luxury.

The event was the Sierra Summit 2005 - the Sierra Club's national expo and convention at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. Arianna's HUFFINGTON POST editor has claimed that the Sierra Club sent the vehicle to pick he up and that she was astounded. So astounded, I suppose, that she got in instead of demanding another ride from them, taking a cab, or
RENTING AN ECO-FRIENDLY VEHICLE RIGHT THERE AT THE AIRPORT. She was not forced to enter the vehicle at gunpoint. Since Diane Feinstein has a concealed weapons permit, she could have done that, but Diane was no where to be seen.

Of course they need their cars. We all learned you can't rely on busses to get you away from the hurricane.

Chevy Chase says his family needs SUVs because they use them to haul around the trailers for their stable of horses. Robert Kennedy says his family needs the SUV they drive because they like to drive out into the country on weekends. Robert Redford says he needs his Explorer SUV because he uses it for, well, "exploring", presumably on his ranch covering thousands of acres of virgin western wilderness. So you see, all these liberal-type people have very good reasons to have their SUVs. I guess the rest of us don't.
Then there's John Kerry, who says he really doesn't "own" those SUVs he drives, "the family" does. Hey, John, didn't they tell you, don't ever take sides with anyone against The Family, ever.

That's even better!! So not only is Arianna (along with John 'Vichy' Kerry, Robert Kennedy, Jr., Robert Redford, et al) a massive enviro-hypocrite, but the SIERRA CLUB itself, the granddaddy of all enviro-leftists, uses Chevy Suburbans getting probably 8-10 mpg??? That's an even bigger scandal than Arianna's hypocrisy, b/c she is one person while the Sierra Club is supposed to be the sainted embodiment of millions of greens and whackos nationwide.

Actually, as reported on an earlier thread, the Sierra Club was 'astounded' too as the Suburban had been sent, they said, by an ouside contractor they had hired. "We learned our lesson," were the words of a SC spokescritter. We, the good guys, are not responsible, only astounded. Bush's fault!

Nailing liberal hypocrisy never makes them shut up. They just deny it or ignore it ever happened. There is always blaming the right wing media and the right wing attack machine. The truly spineless libs only bash the US on foreign soil. Huffinton will continue to spew her vitriol as long as Yahoo props her up.

Sorry, doesn't count. Arianna or Babs would say, tough, haul that plywood in a horse-drawn wagon, or, better yet, not use it at all, because not only do you need transport, you also killed a tree to make it.
Hauling wood never crosses the mind of celebrity types, because even though their mansions and villas might use it, they never see it being built. That's for "little people", you know...
