President Congratulates Afghan People and Government on Successful Parliamentary Elections
I congratulate the Afghan people and Afghan Government for today's successful parliamentary elections, which are a major step forward in Afghanistan's development as a democratic state governed by the rule of law. Braving deadly attacks and threats of violence, Afghans voted in large numbers for representatives to their new National Assembly and Provincial Councils. We commend the tremendous progress that the Afghan people havemade in recent years, and we pledge the full support of the United States as Afghanistan acts to meet the new challenges ahead.

Once again, being grossly underreported by the MSM.
Regardless, a tremendous victory for the good guys. Democracy, baby!!!
Now, if only the Germans will can get it right.
Good news BTTT!!
The Media will find an angle about low voter turnout or too many "extreme" candidates. Something. They'll get Dems to criticize. The spin will always be, "It's Bush's fault."
By tomorrow, "Mother" Sheehan will have denounced the elections as being illegitimate because the candidates were all Bush/Rove puppets. That'll get lots of coverage.
" The Media will find an angle about low voter turnout or too many "extreme" candidates."
Brian Williams already did it tonight on NBC world news. He made a statement paraphrased "althought there are reports of low voter turnouts.......". So many Americans that only have the L/MSM to depend on are keeped in the dark.
I expect the DemocRATS will be doing a lot of pissin' and moanin' about the Taliban being "disenfranchised."
Successful elections in a new Democray in the Middle East.
Contrast this with Germany's devision.
Yet they dare look down upon the Afghani's and Iraqi's?
Thanks for the ping!
Note from the Old Media to HAL9000: We only do Bush Bashing stories.
Thanks for the good news ping!
