No, we don't need any leaders. What we need is for black individuals to look into their mirrors and be brutally honest with themselves. If someone needs a leader, that reflection is it. No one knows what an individual wants moreso than that individual. And it is up to that individual to make it happen.

First I'd like to sincerely apologize for any off-color or racial content in any of my posts since hurricane Katrina. I have not meant to broad-brush the African-American community for the actions of a few, or for the problems in New Orleans.

It is statements like this one from Louis Farrakhan, and from Cynthia McKinney, from Al Sharpton and from Kanye West that just make me mad. Mad enough to forget reason and courtesy at times.

It's bad enough that we have such a widespread natural disaster, then there are the very legitimate questions that arise from extreme poverty and inept government actions.

But all these people who want to claim malicious, racially-motivated murder and neglect are just beyond the pale. I'm mad as hell! What do they want, for racism to continue eternally as they try their best to incite us to hate and suspect one another? Simply despicable comments. And the great minds over at DU are all over such comments.
