I guess it's the fault of the federal government for not assuming the local authorities in LA would be bumbling, incompetent fools.

Damn rove and bush!

So the feds delivered food and water to the Super Dome BEFORE the hurricane, even though it's clearly the responsibility of the state to equip shelters with food and water?

And the feds are being blamed for what? Exactly what is the problem with the feds response? Has ANYONE figured out what the problem is?

Just how much water/MREs can you get in 7 trailers? And where did it all go? How big were the trailers?

As far as I can tell, the only fault is that it's a Republican President and appointees.

The La Democrats are not to blame for anything, because Democrats NEVER make mistakes, or miscalculations! < /sarc off >

I guess I must be stupid or something . . . I didn't think they quoted or paraphrased him (or any "official") saying anything offensive.

I guess if the media will only show one aspect of a situation, it becomes true that that's the only aspect that exists. To indicate otherwise is apparently to be completely insensitive and offensive.

The Feds delivered to the Superdome before the storm when the NG realized there was nothing there for the people and contacted their superiors. I remember this from the coverage the Sunday before.

IT WAS PROBABLY LOOTED BY THE NEW ORLEANS POLICE AS IT WAS EASIER TO FIND THEN THE LOCAL WALMART STORE.

I swear, with each hour and new revelations, I find that the feds did a better and better job. Their efforts were nothing short of miraculous.

I'd still love for someone to tell us what it is that the feds did wrong.

The MSM finds what he said offensive because it does not blame President Bush.

The trucks were right outside Superdome. It has been said the Superdome was in such craziness that they did not unload the trailors full of food. My guess is Mayor got rid of it to try to save his butt. And what about his guest that he got out of town before others who did not have the clout he or his friends had to get out. Seems to me like the Mayor is not really one who wants to save his own.

You go and help people and instead of saying thank you, they say you didn’t do it quick enough.

They had buses and they complain it wasn’t Greyhound buses.

Can’t wait for the comments of this new $2000 give away.

THE MAYOR SOLD IT TO RAISE MONEY TO SEND HIS OFFICERS TO LAS VEGAS.

I recall reading in an interview with someone who spent the whole time in the superdome that they were getting 2 meals and 1 bottle of water each day. Sanitation and terror were the main issues making it hellish.

Does anyone one know how many of NO’s finest were assigned to the Superdome and the Convention center during the huricane?

I’ve heard that there are some “rules of thumb” with respect to the number of police per increment of crowd size.

From an article I posted earlier from a family who was in the Superdome

There we met the lines of people," Mrs. Toussaint said. "We had to be searched before we could go in. There was no water, no lights. They gave us water and military rations

I'd still love for someone to tell us what it is that the feds did wrong.

Lots of stuff to shake out still. The only story I've seen so far that strikes me as being an odd Fed action is ...

ATLANTA - ... Many of the firefighters, assembled from Utah and throughout the United States by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, thought they were going to be deployed as emergency workers.

Instead, they have learned they are going to be community-relations officers for FEMA, shuffled throughout the Gulf Coast region to disseminate fliers and a phone number.

http://www.sltrib.com/ci_3004197

Since these firefighters had assembled in Atlanta, it seems their assignment wasn't being driven by Louisiana officials.

I don't have a problem with that. It might have been miscommunication, and it certainly would have been better if the firefighters relieved the NO firefighters, but these were people gathered by FEMA.

I think independent fire department agencies around the nation sent people to NO.

In a disaster of this magnitude, I'd expect mistakes to be made. It's a given. And this is a minor thing in the bigger picture.

This is beyond my comprehension.

ALL we heard for DAYS was the people in the Super Dome had no food or water.

Why isn't THIS all over the MSM? (A purely rhetorical question, I assure you)
