"Wow, a whole 20-30 guys - I don't care how well trained they are, it they ain't going to do squat"

They COULD do a lot, but that depends on both what they're authorized to do and their line of sight to target.

I doubt this is true though- DF doesn't even officially exist. Highly unlikely they'd be using such an outfit in this situation.

Did somebody repeal Posse Commitatus?

Delta Force has immunity via Executive Order.

The 1st SFOD-Delta (Delta force) is one the Federal Government's CT (Counter Terrorist) groups. Also known as CAG (Combat Applications Group) the Pentagon manages to tightly control what is known about this Unit. Their soldiers are recruited from the U.S. Army, mainly from the Special Forces Green Berets and Rangers. Their main compound is in a remote area of Fort Bragg and it is rumored that up to 2,500 personnel are present at this facility.

Yeah, I give it a 98% probability that this is a hoax. Delta soldiers would not discuss any of their current missions with family members, and they are not needed for riot control. There's a very slight chance that they are going in to rescue some federal or state emergency workers who are trapped and taking small arms fire.

It was "41 shots" not only because of bad marksmanship, but because the PC people made such an outcry about "inhumane Dum-Dun HOLLOW POINT bullets" that NYPD carried FMJ Ball, and it went right through the guy, the steel door, living room, and into the couch.

They would have done better using their pistols as hammers.

I give it a 100% chance this is a hoax. At a presser just now they explained that the military will not, repeat NOT be involved in this. It's National Guard only under the direct order of the governor. Other governors have loaned Military Police NG personnel on an agreement between the governors. If anything, they are SWAT teams coming in from other communities.

Somehow I don't think this is true, or the group in question is not Delta Force. I don't see the President authorizing a SF operation in America to kill Americans (no matter how savage we think they are). They "victims" families would be in court for years arguing about Possee Comitatus and how they had no right to be there.

The other issue I have is "Family member just received a phone call from a brother on the team." I've never known anyone on any SF team to call family before deploying, especially to identify the theater they are operating in.

This sounds like a bad case of telephone. Could it be some elite NG unit instead?
