So because rolling blackouts have started in southern california it's official? I've got news for them, during the 100 plus heatwave here in central cali, rolling blackouts were going on... but only LA counts I guess... LA and SF are the reasons the rest of this state always get shafted.

California: a case study in what happens when the eco-freaks and the Democrats control everything. The state's power grid is descending into a replica of Eastern Europe under the communists. Peter Beckmann, a Czech immigrant to the United States after the Prague Spring in the early sixties, wrote in Access to Energy years ago of Eastern European women having to get up in the middle of the night to cook because the power was so unreliable during the day.

I wondered what the green glow over by San Fernando road was each evening.

I do believe that Glendale does purchase power, but I also think it can generate all it's own power if need be.

During the run up of energy prices a few years back, Glendale's fees remained flat.

"waiting for someone to come along and blame this on illegal aliens"

No need to wait, responsibility of illegal immigrants and their share of the energy load is well documented;

For example from Immigration and the Energy Crisis

Immigration’s Impact on U.S. Energy Usage*

Donald F. Anthrop

Increased population, not increased consumption, is almost entirely responsible for increase in U.S. energy usage since 1973.

Channel 7 chopper is hovering over an Edison plant.

No! It's a black helicopter with some stickers on it to make you think it's from Channel 7!

...A VERY HOT WEEKEND IS SHAPING UP FOR ALL OF SOUTHWEST CALIFORNIA...

...BUILDING HIGH PRESSURE OVER SOUTHWEST CALIFORNIA WILL PRODUCE VERY HOT DAYS FRIDAY THROUGH SUNDAY WITH MANY AREAS EXCEEDING 100 DEGREES IN THE VALLEYS...MOUNTAINS AND DESERTS. EVEN COASTAL AREAS WILL TOP OUT IN THE MID 80S TO MID 90S BY EARLY AFTERNOON. CITIES IN THE COACHELLA VALLEY AND THE SAN DIEGO DESERTS WILL LIKELY TOP 110...

But its a dry heat! /sarcasm

This has been the weirdest August in the AV. There were nights I had to close the windows, it was so cold, yet, this weekend they're calling for 104F.

Ben, I saw the ping for the Glendale tunnel -- thanks for that. Budget shortfall? What budget shortfall?

I don't think too many were offended by that joke. It's just a silly play on words.
